Great option
Good location, quiet complex, large spaces. The Summit is located on Barnett Shoals on Athens's Eastside. It is very close to several grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, and other places. It is close to the loop. One could have everything they need on the Eastside without having to go to other parts of town. The complex was built in 2005 and is in good condition. There are amenities including a pool, basketball court, tennis court, dog park and sidewalks that are good for walking. The complex is on the Athens bus route and is typically a 10 minute drive to campus.

Summit House Review
Barnett Shoals traffic can be frustrating sometimes, but it’s not always a hassle. I’ve lived here for two years and plan to finish law school here. Nice neighborhood; safe; pleasant for taking walks and being outside. Pool is great, so is the gym and clubhouse. Parking is free and so is access to trash disposal. Gated neighborhood. Each unit varies. I’d suggest having roommates who can be quiet and respectful because the walls and doors are pretty thin and not soundproof at all. Especially if you have a bedroom above you or are downstairs with the common area.

I like it!
It’s pretty close to campus, 5-10 minutes depending on traffic. It’s very quiet and a nice neighborhood too. It’s safe to live in and the parking is really good too.
