I really like my apartment and location; however, since I've lived there our house has violated Ann Arbor building code. This has resulted in lots of (delayed) construction mostly on the exterior of the home - which is NOT ideal when you're stuck inside doing remote classes all day. Another frustrating component is our landlord is very bad at communicating to us when construction will be taking place. He also has not provided any notice to us that the construction crew would need to enter our unit on multiple occasions (which is illegal and violates the terms of the lease.) The crew has removed/moved our personal property without permission on multiple occasions because of this.

I tried to move in in August. There was a notice from the city of "noncompliance". I was not told about it when I signed the lease. I moved out about a week later and tried to get my first months rent + security deposit back. My landlord ignored me. I reached out to student legal services. They said b/c my roommate wasn't moving out and we signed the lease together it would be difficult to get my money back. I gave up. I decided to live with my parents/partner until remote learning is no longer an option.

I like the space - we have ample room, free storage, parking, and laundry (in the basement), and a large backyard and porch area. Overall, the property is maintained at the bare minimum level of maintenance and it is quite far from north campus.
