It's a shoebox but it's clean
utilities are very expensive, parking is $50 per month but the lot is cracked and I tripped more than once. it's supposed to be a second floor but it's actually a first floor and there's very little sun

Too cold, too few windows, and too much nightlight
This property would be okay and quite average, were it not for two major issues. 1) It is far too cold. There is no central heating and it relies entirely on a single window AC/heating unit that burns through an insane amount of electricity and barely heats the living room. It doesn't even reach the bedroom. 2) The windows are odd. There are only two very small windows in the whole thing, giving your apartment almost a prison-like feeling. In addition, if you live on the bottom floor like me, the streetlights will be right above your windows, and there will be constant light sneaking into your room at night. No amount of shifting the blinds will block this, to the point I've have to board up the windows with black construction paper. Almost inversely, you will get almost no natural sunlight, which can be exhausting.
Other issues include: management is pretty nonresponsive, and sometimes will change the code to the laundry rooms without telling anybody,
Benefits: Maintenance workers from the management are very kind, very respectful, and do their jobs really well.

Overall clean, affordable 1-bedroom apartments
I have had a great experience with this apartment on 8th Ave, and the property management group. Their offices are across the street from the law school on High Street and maintenance responds the next day to requests. The apartment itself is nice for a smaller apartment, with a living room, bathroom, half-kitchen, and bedroom. The appliances are well-kept, although the refrigerators are smaller than average sized full fridges. My two complaints are that the only heating/cooling in the apartment is a wall A/C unit in the bedroom and the laundry room for the building has outdated machines.
