Burns Park Condominiums

I love the Burns Park Condominium - it's quiet, but close enough to campus that I can get to school somewhat easily (20 minute walk and 5 minute bike ride, there's also a 5A/B bus stop right by the apartment). It's an older property (likely built in the 70s) but good for the price and my apartment is approx 700 sq ft. My landlord is very chill and reasonable too, and the neighbors are pretty friendly although I don't see them very often. If I do have an issue there's someone who lives in the building whose door I can always knock on. Coin or QR-code-operated laundry in the basement. All appliances work and I haven't had any major repair issues since I moved here a year ago.

I rent from an individual landlord at the Burns Park complex. I like my landlord a lot--she is responsive and has not caused any problems or drama for me. She also lent me a lot of unused furniture and other items she had in her home for me to use during the year, so I didn't have to go out and buy it. She generally expects you to manage some smaller maintenance items (i.e., replacing kitchen light fixture, maintaining paint) on your own, but I had some more serious repair issues this year (toilet float needed to be replaced, small leak in ceiling of bathroom) and she was very responsive and on top of getting those things fixed.

All the units are condos owned by different people. I rent directly from a condo owner, not the property manager. My landlord has his own handyman who's great. The property management itself is also good but I have limited contact with them.

It's quiet and residents do enforce that. There's a condo board that will remind you about rules like keeping your heat at 72 degrees to avoid freezing pipes (we have giant windows and it is a little drafty/they're not the newest windows).

Laundry in the building is coin operated. There are small storage lockers in the basement as well. We have one parking spot.

Trash situation could be better - you have to bring it to the back of the parking lot and toss it in a huge tall dumpster. Common hallway is taken care of well.
