Howell Park Apartments

Pros: location (near business school and Merritt's), sunlight, management, spacious living area, affordable, free internet

Cons: one bathroom for three rooms, occasional bugs (it's near the woods), occasional noise (new neighbors are loud, previously good), electricity flickers a bit (I hardly notice this anymore)

The best part about Howell St is that it's close to campus (about a 15-minute walk). Also, being outside of Baity/Mason Farm, you can still get a parking pass for the business school deck. The area is pretty quiet. There are plenty of students from different professional schools, but most of the business school students gather near Franklin, which is a long walk away (about 30 minutes uphill).

If you want to stay very close to campus (10-15 minute walk), but don't like the "apartment" style of buildings on campus, this is your best bet. Great landlord, many other UNC students in the area and good facility maintenance is carried out regularly. The best past is free parking!

Howell Street apartments are fantastic and are value for money. They are just a 12 minute walk to the business school. 8 minutes if you have a bicycle. The landlord is fantastic. This is the party center for the batch of 2017 - at least for Indian students. The only issue is that it is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom place. You will have to adjust schedules with your roommate at least for 1 mod (2 months). Plenty of open spaces to look forward to here.

Merrits can get too crowded / overly familiar.
