don’t recommend to anyone who values a peaceful living environment orrequires regular, uninterrupted sleep

I have lived in this apartment for three months and have to stay for one more month. I pay $1,695 per month for a one-bedroom unit, yet this experience has severely impacted my mental health, resulting in neurosis and sleep issues.

I work at Children’s Hospital, where I maintain a very regular schedule and perform serious, demanding responsibilities that require full concentration. Unfortunately, my upstairs neighbors seem to work shifts and are active throughout the quiet hours. I hear their talking, laughing, objects dropping on the floor, and bed frames knocking against the floor every night during quiet hours. This constant disturbance has made it impossible for me to get the uninterrupted rest I need.

I began raising this issue with the property management in September, expecting them to address the problem, especially since the lease explicitly mentions quiet hours. However, their responses were disappointing. Initially, they claimed, “We have no reason to believe this apartment is the cause of this noise problem.” After I provided recordings of the disturbances, they replied, “The upstairs tenants have the right to be active in their apartment, even during quiet hours.”

Since they were unable or unwilling to resolve the issue, I requested to transfer to another unit within the building. Shockingly, they demanded I pay a transfer fee equal to one month's rent ($1,695), along with a new application fee and deposit. This unreasonable request made it clear to me that Gaslight Property is not a good choice for anyone seeking a supportive and responsible living environment.

Ultimately, I had no choice but to move out. However, they are now requiring a termination fee of $3,390. Despite the significant toll this situation has taken on my mental health, I’ve decided to pay the fee and leave this disappointing apartment and property as soon as possible, otherwise my mental health as well as physic health will be destroyed.

I don’t recommend this apartment or Gaslight Property to anyone who values a peaceful living environment or requires regular, uninterrupted sleep. Please, please, please learn from my lesson.

expensive but very nice

The apartment is newly renovated. The building is in a quiet neighborhood and is very safe. People living here are also very quiet and it feels like a little community. It is a little far to be walkable but definitely biking distance. Maintenance is slow to respond to requests and the price is definitely on the higher end of things. It is also a good option for law students after they graduate.
