Live Somewhere Else
The location is tempting but the cleanliness, management, and security are absolutely terrible. You will have random people trying to get into your apartment late at night. Lots of roaches as well as of this year. The amenities are very nice, but they close most of it down the majority of the year. Even the pool tables in the lobby.

Not Bad, Not Great
Perhaps, one of my favorite things about living at The Standard is its proximity to the law school. I'm not big on driving, and the walk from The Standard to UT Law is less than seven minutes. Other than that, another good quality about The Standard is how close it is to food places, many of which are literally one street over. For the most part, there aren't many cons. The Standard is not an excellent place to stay, but it is not bad for student living. However, I would recommend pushing for a one-bedroom apartment or being great at conflict resolution because they typically try to let roommates solve their own issues with each other. Also, at the beginning of each semester at The Standard, there is a ritual of pulling the fire alarm in the middle of the night for the first week, which can be tiresome. All in all, staying at The Standard has pros and cons, but if one can get a single apartment or room with a friend, it is not a bad experience.
