Close to Campus

The apartment building is close to campus which is why I decided to rent and live here. When I moved in rent was $1800 a month which was cheaper than on campus housing for graduate students. However, my landlord said she will start charging over $2000 a month after I move out. Note: the building has cockroaches (I've self-treated with spray around the doors and faucets) and the property managers have not successfully dealt with the problem, choosing band-aid solutions whenever I have brought it up.
