General Housing

The Grove is an adequate residence for a single law student seeking affordable housing. The main benefit is for pet owners. The Grove permits pets into their apartments and has a small dog park on the property. In addition, they have a small cardio room and workout area. Along with a study area at the facility that most students do not use. The rooms come furnished with a bed, desk, dresser, small walk-in closet and a small bathroom. If a student spends most of their time at the law school, it is a great place to sleep and store belongings. There is a large counter space and kitchen area with cupboard space designed for 3 spaces per roommate (3 occupants total). The fridge has to be shared but with so many undergrads who are often roommates, they do not use the fridge much. The downside is living with undergrads in other apartments, as they can become loud, rambunctious and annoying at varying times throughout the day or night. This can be observed as a benefit, since it forces law students to remain at the school to study in peace. It is also a safe location, especially since the Moscow Police Station is located adjacent to the facility. There is also some restaurants within walking distance. Lastly, the facility is only a six ("6") minute drive from the law school gold parking lot. Tell new law students to be careful driving, undergrads do not look both ways before crossing the streets anymore and will walk headfirst into oncoming traffic. Also, they enjoy driving in the middle of the street or parking lot without paying much attention to lanes. Generally, one can presume the undergrads are either drunk, on their phones, or have ingested some sort of drug. Returning to the main topic. Overall, the Grove is not the Ritz-Carlton but it is not a Motel 6 either.

Average Apartment but Compared to Other Apartments, Might be Above Average

The staff is terrible at the Grove and when you move in the apartment won’t be clean, but compared to other apartments, the amenities seem better. The staff is usually unhelpful when something goes wrong. And you have to literally call code enforcement when they do things that aren’t allowed. But if you can overlook that, there’s a gym, pool, package room, tons of parking. Each room is furnished with its own bathroom which is nice to not share with roommates. Unlike other apartments, there is AC, which is nice in the first few months of the semester when it is still warm. They newly implemented a trash valet service, where your trash gets taken from your apartment a few nights a week. Note that this isn’t just a student apartment. You can request student roommates, but your neighbors might be in their 40s with kids screaming in the middle of the night. But with limited options for housing in Moscow, I have lived here for 3 years and survived.
