Perfect!

I prefer to live alone and I was lucky to find the apartment I am currently at. It's very spacious and has a full bedroom, full bathroom, 2 living rooms, a full (renovated) kitchen, and a sunroom/office space. It is an older building so heating is through radiators. All utilities are paid for except electricity and wifi. I have 1 cat and do not pay pet rent (waived as part of my move-in process). I can easily access management for when there are repairs or issues.

Slight downsides: I do have to pay for parking through the Village of Oak Park with a monthly permit, and I have to move my car appropriately on days of street cleaning -- this has been the only downside to living here. I also had my car broken into once on this street this past July. There are no security cameras on the street so that was also not a great experience. No issues with strangers entering the building without authorization though. Laundry is in-unit but you have to pay with quarters. There are sometimes out of order machines or neighbors of mine who take up machines for extended amounts of time, but overall okay once you get into a pattern of washing your items in a schedule.

Overall I love my apartment - I've got gorgeous windows and plenty of space for my cat to run around -- perfect for hosting too! There are a few closet spaces so I have had to get creative with storage but still okay for 1 person. I am a 10-12 minute walk from the Ridgeland Green line stop.
