Good place to live outside Boulder

The property is relatively affordable when compared to similar units. It's an older complex, so you don't have the modern touches that some of the pricier apartments have. It's 15-20 minutes from campus, and 20 minutes to get into Denver (depending on where you're going). It's pretty quiet, next to a beautiful open area for walking and biking, and I think the area is pretty safe. Management and maintenance aren't very responsive, however, but I think unfortunately that is typical of rental companies like this. Overall, it's a fine place to live outside of Boulder during law school (definitely won't be living here after, though).

Modern inside, not so much outside

We live in a renovated apartment with wood floors and black appliances (there are different levels of renovation in different apartments). The inside of the apartment is great - appliances are clean and work well, floors are nice, bathroom is nice, carpet in the bedroom is clean. Really like the inside of the apartments.

Once you step out onto your deck, though, and look around at the buildings, they show their age. But, that's to be expected from this lower price point.

Walking distance to fast food places, hiking trails, mountain views, restaurants, etc. Good location in Broomfield about 15-20 minutes drive to CU's campus. We have a cat and she does just fine here, lots of people have dogs too with seemingly no issues - there is plenty of grass space and even a dog park.

Biggest issue with this apartment complex: maintenance. They are incredibly slow to respond to maintenance requests at times, and unhelpful when you try to call to get their attention. Not very fast about snow removal/salting for ice. Gym equipment seems to be constantly broken, only a few pieces working on any given day. Community hot tub was broken for awhile too.

Getting around Broomfield

Broomfield Reviews

25 reviews
Broomfield is an interesting place. It is for sure a commuter town; if you are looking for multiple food options and nightlife close by you should look elsewhere. If you are a homebody who enjoys taking walks with pretty views of the front range with wide open skies its a good spot. However, even if you enjoy nightlife and food options the location puts you in a good spot to get to a lot of different places within 15ish minutes.
Nice area. Not very walkable, but close to a lot including restaurants, breweries, and open space parks. Not too far from Boulder or Denver. Sometimes traffic is bad, but I don’t mind it.
This complex is next to a senior living complex, and the people who live there are incredibly social and kind. Located in a very safe area.
Coming from a larger city into Broomfield was a bit of a shock since I thought that it would be more like Denver since it was still so close. But I honestly love the quieter, slower pace just outside the city while being so close to both Denver and Boulder. You get all of the benefits of both cities without some of the major headaches of either.
Safe, quiet neighborhood. Apparently there is a problem with car break-ins/theft, but we haven't had an issue. I also think this is a general CO-wide problem (or at least Boulder/Denver problem).
The neighborhood is very safe and right across from a mall. Lots of food options, although most are chain locations.
We haven't had any issues yet, but there are reports of car jackings and other crime elsewhere in the city.
It’s nice, quiet residential area near lots of open space parks. Not very close to public transit although the flatiron flyer station is a 5 min drive. Not a ton within walking distance when it comes to things to do or restaurants. Most decadent food (non-fast food or major chains) are 10+ mins driving away.
