Friendly, safe neighborhood

King Farm is a very safe (feeling) and friendly neighborhood. It is nicely laid out and landscaped. There is a Safeway and a few restaurants within the neighborhood. Neighbors are friendly. There is a nice online community portal. Apartments themselves aren't much to write home about but the houses in the neighborhood seem very nice. Overall, a nice place to live if you have pets, children or need a convenient location to public transit.

Great Location if Metro is Key

A short 10-15 minute walk from the Shady Grove metro depending on urgency. Seems to be the selling point of living here. King Farm is an awesome neighborhood. It feels safe. On the downside, however, leasing office isn't the most pleasant and renovations are desperately needed. Things are outdated to say the least!

Nice community, Sub-Par Apartments

The King Farm community is very nice. There are beautiful homes, nice townhomes, and nicely situated apartments. The sidewalks and parks are very walkable and you feel safe here. The apartments, however, are in dire need of renovations. We have maintenance issues monthly. Hot water problems weekly. Mold is inevitable in our windows due to condensation from poor insulation. Apartment living is apartment living. There isn't much to dispute there. However, you expect more when you pay a good chunk of money each month.

14 Month Lease

My girlfriend and I moved into the Huntington at Kingfarm in October 2015. So far, we have mixed feelings about our lease. The community is great. You feel safe walking around alone. Neighbors are friendly, and you're in a great location- close to the metro, 270 and Rockville attractions. Amenities are wonderful. You have access to multiple gyms (although they're small) and there or 3 swimming pools in the community. Some leasing agents are sweet, while others seem to always be in a sour mood. The bad: cheap build of each apartment. There are build quality issues in our kitchen. Hot water is hard to come by sometimes. Major need for a renovation across the community. Also, the contracted workers that Kingfarm hires to do roofing work and other miscellaneous jobs is incompetent and rude, working passed their scheduled hours to get the job done sooner (more sloppy as a result ). Great community but beware of little things like this If you know they'd bother you.

Great Place to Live

King Farm is a great community for both young professionals and families. Safe area with lots around to do including parks, shopping, and entertainment. Maintenance is always on top of things and have a quick response. Spacious apartments for a great price compared to other apartments in the area. Being right across from the metro is a huge plus as well.
