Nice apartment, convenient area
This is a great place to live if you want to feel safe, be situated closely to places you can run errands, and be within reach of campus.
The property is very small and you can walk to the leasing office if you need help from the manager. Management is super friendly. I live in a medium one-bedroom unit with my partner, and it suits our needs. We have one reserved parking spot (there is only one permitted per unit) and when one of us is parked there, the other parks in the guest lot, which is close to our apartment because the complex itself is small as I mentioned. In the unit, there is heating but no air conditioning. Neighbors are friendly and largely families.
I am walking distance from a gym, multiple grocery stores, a nice coffee shop, and more. There are also grocery stores situated a reasonable driving distance from the complex like Trader Joe's and Target. The location is convenient and the drive to campus from here is easy.
I take reasonable precautions with my car such as making sure there are no valuables inside when it is parked (or anything that looks valuable) and my car windows are tinted. A neighbor I met recently told me his car was stolen from the space in front of the leasing office over five years ago. It seems like this is something to consider but Tigard isn't nearly as bad as downtown Portland when it comes to car break-ins and theft. I've not had a problem in my reserved space or the guest lot and there is security on the property.
There is a gym area, but it is very small. The gym nearby is preferable. There is a pool here as well.
I enjoy living here overall but I'm not sure it's the most practical choice as a student who may be borrowing living expenses. This would be great if you had two people sharing a one-bedroom unit or four people sharing a two-bedroom unit though.
