Solid Apartment

Overall, my experience has been positive. The best feature for me is the short walk to Vandy and the location on 21st ave is next to various food and shopping options. It is very pet friendly, and as a dog owner, having a field right outside your apartment is clutch. I also appreciate how safe I feel here. I always see Vandy police patrolling around the complex, so it feels like we are still a part of the campus. The management is very nice and responsive, and maintenance requests are usually fixed within the nexy day, if not same day. While the space is small, it is manageable with two people and the price is reasonable given the proximity to Vandy, but I do wish there was more closet space.

Super close but nothing fancy

I love how close this place is to campus. It doesn't have the fancy amenities that other apartment buildings in Nashville have, but the staff are very helpful and they always respond and get to things ASAP. Fire alarm goes off pretty often.

Can't get any closer

Super close to Peabody which is amazing. I love being able to go to class within 30 min of waking up, being able to home for lunch and between classes, and use the library!

Mismanaged

Hallways smell like garbage, took months to have my dryer repaired, bug problem in the building. It is meant for undergrads I think and they don't hold it in high regard

Good but not great

Pros: amazing location (right near Hillsboro Village and the law school); reasonable price for location; residents are mostly long-term care patients (i.e., older) or international students so neighbors are fairly quiet; quick and efficient maintenance team for owners in your apartment (but see discussion of maintenance in cons)
Cons: sound of hospital helicopters and drunk undergrads at night; dearth of sunlight for north facing apartments (worse than it sounds in the winter); not perfectly maintained (some elevator buttons don't work, some doors to enter the building will stop working, minor problems of that nature)

Solid apartment

Clean, quiet of neighbors, great location to the hospital and school. The only thing is the helicopter noise is very present and at times annoying because of how close it is to the hospital and there is lots of noise from the undergrads walking, the garbage truck, and people below when you live on the side near South Dr.

Location is biggest pro

What can't be beat for this complex in the convenience and location. Note that on top of rent, residents are responsible for utilities, internet/cable, monthly parking fee, and renting a washer/dryer unit if you object to using the community appliances. Unfortunately, management has had quite a few transitions and always seems disorganized. The continuity has been weak, and unclear and sometimes even conflicting information is shared with residents. It is a fine place to live, but the amenities themselves aren't worth the price, in my opinion. One money saver to consider is not needing to purchase the VUSM parking pass when living so close to school and several other clinic rotations (children's hospital, VA, Village at Vanderbilt clinic).

Village at Vanderbilt review

This is a single bedroom, single bath apartment at the Village at Vanderbilt, just across the street from Vanderbilt Medical Center. I am not sure you can obtain housing closer than this. However, you do pay extra for this proximity. The apartments are clean and functional, but not necessarily new. However, units recently received all new kitchen appliances, including dishwasher. There is a small gym with a couple treadmills, an elliptical, stationary bike, light dumbbells, and some machines. There is also a pool. Overall the complex feels secure. Residents mostly stick to themselves. This would be a good place for a med student to live if they desire to be extremely close to school (10 minute walk to EBL, less to the hospital) and can fit the bill. There are also some good restaurants very nearby (Pizza Perfect, Kbob's, etc.) with Hillsboro Village just a slightly further walk. Overall a nice residence, under new management now who seems to take good care of the place.

I am on the border of Midtown and Music Row so it feels very safe here, there is not tons of traffic which is nice when walking around and even driving whenever I get out in my car, and there is plenty to do with a bunch of restaurants and bars. There is even an outdoor concert every Monday at one of the bars across the street, so I can open my windows and just listen to live music when doing homework - I love it!
very fun atmosphere. Central to everything and lots of restaurants and shopping near by and very close to school. about a 5 minute drive
Everything is a short drive away (15 minutes or less). There are grocery stores, restaurants and bars in the areas so you aren’t missing out on the social experience. This is a more residential corner of the midtown area so you don’t hear traffic/ambulance noise even though there are freeways and hospitals nearby. Close to Centennial Park and Percy Warner Trails so if you enjoy the outdoors this is a nice area to be in.
Midtown is great if you want to live close to campus. Vibrant bar/restaurant scene and short walk to campus. Said "yes" to all the additional questions around safety, family/pet friendly, etc. but you also have to realize it's very much a party area. Division is very popular and as a result, you always have to watch your surroundings and be aware at all times.
Midtown is situated just next to Vanderbilt with tons of fun bars and restaurants
Lots of bars and food places, easy to walk around, safe, vibrant.
Restaurants nearby, quiet, close to gym. I really like it.
Very close to campus and plenty things around to do
