Great place but a bit expensive

When looking for an apartment online, I had some challenges. When I found this apartment, I loved the location and the spacious place. The only downside is, because it is near the hospital, it sometimes gets loud.

Emerson place apts

Great place, quick to take care of any issues that arise. Front desk concierge is very friendly and promptly handles all delivered packages. Most of the rooms are modernized with nice hardwood floors. The rent is on the expensive side due to the beacon Hill location, but you get what you pay for. Spacious rooms too.

Good location and clean

The apartment is in a great location near Massachusetts General Hospital and close to public transport, the North End, and Beacon Hill. It is mostly filled with young professionals, especially those in the healthcare industry. No complaints about the property or location.

Great but constantly needs work

The elevators often break and the laundry room is being renovated so we are sharing one laundry room between two large buildings with tenants. Otherwise, the apartments themselves are great - lots of windows, HUGE living rooms, and generous sized bedrooms. It's expensive but this is an expensive area in Boston

Love Emerson Place

Great location, friendly staff. Love the building. I've been there for three years and plan to renew again. The gym is great, the pool is a lot of fun during summer months. The area around the building is quiet and safe at night. There is no other building in the city with units as spacious as Emerson Place and Longfellow.

About West End

West End is one of the smaller neighborhoods of Boston, blending both the old with the new. Early in its history, West End was typically left behind in attracting residents. This is far from the case today. West End is now dominated by modern high rises and vibrant social hubs scattered throughout ...

West End Reviews

7 reviews
The Longfellow Towers are very close to 5 different train lines which makes it a very walkable area. There are lots of restaurants and bars close by, TD Garden one block over and two grocery stores within a couple of blocks. The Thoreau Path (walking trail) is directly out the back door of the buildings and leads to the Esplanade by the Charles River. From this location, anywhere in downtown Boston is within a 1 mile walk, and most less than that.
It is a very residential area which I like. I find it safe and calm but access to grocery stores, cafes and public transportation are very easy.
very safe and access to everything
Expensive but good part of town. Needs a better grocery store nearby, otherwise no complaints! Great place to live. Roommates exceptional.
My experience in the West End has been great so far - especially for purposes of traveling to school. My walk to campus is roughly one mile - which takes about 20 minutes to walk. Sometimes the neighborhood is especially busy on nights where there are events at the TD Garden.
Close to public transit, close to work, close to the hospital, in a very active and social part of Boston.
The neighborhood is right next to the Charles River and Beacon Hill, two wonderful areas in Boston. The only grocery stores nearby are fairly expensive however.
