So glad we chose The Cambridge!

Our apartment was newly renovated when we moved in, so it is beautiful and all brand new. The management has been nothing but friendly and helpful, and the amenities are great.

Good location, fine apartment

Love living in Logan Circle! Close to 14th street corridor, close to McPherson square, can walk to DuPont and Chinatown. The apartment is spacious for a studio, love the bay window for sunlight. I'm happy to have hardwood floors and an updated kitchen with dishwasher. So it's pretty good for DC standards. Nothing fancy, nothing luxurious. Management is pretty slow for everything- processing applications, maintenance, etc. Concierges - some are better than others. Pretty pricey for what it is but happy to be where I am.

Overall good deal in the city

Old building but they're renovating apartments. So mine was one of the renovated.

All utilities included. Pool on roof. Big sized gym. Close to walk to many places. Concierge service. Safe.

Some concierges are better than others obviously :)

So far, so good!

I have been living at The Cambridge for just over 2 months and so far, it's been a very good experience! My studio is clean, quiet and the location is perfect for everything I need to get to on a daily basis. The only thing I'd wish for is more closet space!

Super Pet Friendly

If you have a dog, like I do, then you will really appreciate this place. It has a special pet entrance that makes it super easy to leave and enter through when you're with your pet. It also has great management, the staff is very, very attentive and really cares about you and your well being. The studio itself is pretty spacious for the type of layout that I have , too, which makes it a really cool place. The kitchen is set nicely and I don't feel like I live in a studio. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking!

Broken elevators, older bathrooms, poor management

One elevator of three is often broken down. This is a utilities-included rent control building, which is a plus and great location--but if you do not get a renovated apartment you're stuck with old bathroom tiling and fixtures. The management which has turn over leaves a lot to be desired, but they are doing a little better and you can see they are making an effort.

Mostly great

Nearly everything has been great. My one complaint is the fact that the treadmills in the gym are constantly broken and have yet to be replaced. Otherwise, the location is wonderful, the inclusion of utilities makes life easy, the pool on the roof is a nice amenity.

Mount Vernon Square Reviews

I love the location - pretty close to everything you want - shopping, entertainment, restaurants, bars, public transportation, etc. I also like the residential feel of the area, unlike apartment buildings down in Chinatown. Unfortunately, there is some higher rates of car break ins and robberies in the neighborhood, due to a relatively affluent population adjacent to lower income areas. Additionally, there has been a crackdown on prostitution in the area - I saw a few women in the early morning hours, and I am glad the police are focusing on this issue. Other than the normal problems of lack of parking, a very attentive police team writing tickets, I love the area!
As previously mentioned, the neighborhood is great with lots going on, tons of restaurants and the Safeway right next door. Super accessible to everything, especially since we're a 5 minute walk from the Gallery Place metro (red line).
I really love Mount Vernon Square as a neighborhood. It is really close to the national mall, great restaurants, shopping, and you have access to multiple different metro lines.
Lots of restaurants, multiple grocery stores nearby and right near 14th street. Metro is a bit limited outside of the green and yellow line but bus lines are very accessible
Safe area close to Chinatown to the east (union station past that) and then 14th street corridor to the west (dupont past that). You can walk almost anywhere in NW DC.
The area is growing so quickly! New restaurants and buildings are popping up all the time. It's also very easy to get any part of the city from the neighborhood.
I enjoy having tons of restaurants and bars around---from neighborhood pubs, to fast casual restaurants, to sit down joints, to cafes. There's a lots to like.
#1 way to describe living downtown/mt vernon square is convenience. There's a 24 hour Safeway, I can walk nearly everywhere, and always feel safe walking.
