Not perfect but pretty good

This building is fairly generic among managed luxury apartment high-rises in the district. For what you get, I haven't seen a better deal in DC. It has great amenities, including a rooftop pool, and the staff for the most part is friendly and responsive. The location may appear unseemly at first, but NoMa is actually a fairly vibrant community that's undergoing a lot of development. The apartment itself has good points and bad points -- e.g. in-unit washer/dryer (good!), bad water pressure in the bathroom sink (not great). Building is Verizon, not Comcast (good!) but you are required to pay for cable and internet in your rend (not great). The finishes and appliances are high-quality (good!), but the floors are really ugly and low-quality (bad).

Friendly Staff, Great Amenities

Camden NoMa is a great value for what you are getting. The amenities are brand new and always kept clean. The management is a breeze to work with and the concierge knows everyone by name. The area around the apt is pretty barren, but metro is close!

Camden NoMA is great

These are nice, new apartments. The rooftop is gorgeous. The management is top-notch and responsive. The price is above market value - as are many things in NOMA. As for the neighborhood, NOMA is growing and changing. If you like to walk, you can get anywhere.

Camden NOMA

This apartment is conveniently located next to a grocery store, bikeshare station, and metro! It has lots of amenities (gym, pool, beautiful lobby and lounge area), but unfortunately there isn't much to do in the area. It's close-ish to H st and Union Market, but it is a bit of a hike to get to 14th St, Shaw, etc. Sometimes it can get a bit noisy, since it is so close to the metro and railway tracks, but you get used to it after a while. Also, the apartment tends to be full of law students and young professionals, so that's something to keep in mind.

Great building, but a boring location

I moved here thinking NoMa would have rapid expansion, but that has not happened. Nothing to do besides stay in the apartment or Metro elsewhere. Plenty of banks and grocery options, but NoMa needs a bar and restaurant!!

NoMa Reviews

I don't venture too far outside of the few blocks of NoMa because outside of the neighborhood isn't as safe. However, the city has done a lot to revamp the area in the past few years, so there are new restaurants and bars opening up. I also live right across the street from the metro, which makes the rest of the city much more accessible.
NoMa is approximately a 35 minute commute to GWU. However, my roommate works on the hill which is less than 10 minutes away. There is a Harris Teeter connected to the building so you don't even have to go outside in order to shop for groceries. The area is still up and coming, so some of the surrounding streets don't seem very safe. However, it is getting better each and every day and it is easy to avoid those streets.
It's an up and coming neighborhood though I live in the very nice part of it. It's rough across North Capitol, but there's nothing over there to go to so I never run into any issues. There's a big dog park as well as plenty to do and eat at Union Market.
Neighborhood is okay. Everything is walkable. Bars/restaurants/grocery stores are super close by. Parking is usually available. Super safe (just don't go near the NY Ave Wendys after dark)
NoMa is up and coming - there are not too many places to eat/socialize in the evenings but the neighborhood is close enough to H Street that you don't feel too stranded.
It's growing like crazy but seriously lacks on the dining/nightlife portion. I like the geography and with the REI opening I'm hoping the nightlife will shift as well.
Fairly safe, though I wouldn't roam around a lot at night. It's certainly a transitioning neighborhood. Lots of people with dogs, big and small.
Noma is a cool area with young professionals mainly and has a lot of food/bar options! It's about 30 min from campus via metro, 20 min driving, (don't walk to campus). The apartment itself is super safe, as is the immediately surrounding area. But it isn't safe to walk west of the area or too far north either.
