Really nice first apartment

Building is really young, has a reputation for being a place for right out of undergrad young professionals. Staff are awesome - and it's noteworthy that it even has staff. Full doorman building with mail room and everything. Gym is included first year, plenty nice for being right in the building. Apartments are fairly new. Murray hill is a great location for young people. Besides being a bit expensive, no real downsides. I'd do it all again the same way.

Amazing But You Pay For It!

Windsor is absolutely gorgeous - it appears like a hotel. The doormen and front desk staff are wonderful - willing to go above and beyond for you at a moment's notice. You also can't beat the location - right by the 4/5/6 and many restaurants, stores, etc. The units themselves are clean and completely renovated. My unit is very spacious except that we split it among two people with a flex wall. To me it never feels cramped despite that. The building is also very young and pet-friendly, so it is great for those just moving to the city out of college. One complaint is the difficult with the management company and leasing office - subletting is near impossible, you can only move in/out on certain days, and they are very inflexible with their policies to the point common sense is lost. Finally, the price is insanely high, especially if you move-in over the summer. I pay a lot for where I live because I think the building itself is worth it, but it definitely makes a dent in my bank account. Overall, I've lived here 3 years and loved it!

Large building, predictable neighbors

Beware that this building is a total frat house. Everyone moves here straight from college. You cannot leave your apartment without seeing someone you know wearing their college's clothes. Close proximity to Brother Jimmy's where you will inevitably find yourself every Thursday night.

Kips Bay Reviews

Easy access to citibike, subway, and bus.

Trader joe's and fairway are nearby.

Lots of "bros" in the neighborhood.
Pros - Fairway at 30th/2nd ave, which is wonderful. Route E shuttle goes to 30th/1st ave, so it's easy to get to and from campus on weekdays. Very quiet area, but with lots of restaurants and a fair amount of nightlife. So close to Penn Station, which makes it easy to get to the airport and to leave the city.

Cons - It can feel far from the heart of campus, and I'm constantly taking cabs and public transit back and forth; combined with high rent, this can get expensive.
Walking distance to 2 grocery stores (Trader Joes and Fairway), across the street from a gym, walking distance to dozens of restaurants and bars. Close to Grand Central. Unbeatable location for convenience.
A young neighborhood with plenty of bars and restaurants. There are a number of grocery stores, coffee shops, and the neighborhood overall is accessible to much of the city.
This is a very fun area with a lot of places to go. There are tons of bars, restaurants, shops, nail salons, and it is easy to get around.
Very convenient location, very young, very safe, and very clean. Everything you need can be found in Murray Hill! No complaints.
Kips Bay has the perks of a quiet, residential neighborhood, and is a relative unknown. Hidden gem? Maybe.
See first thing I wrote. Kips bay/murray hill has a great bar and restaurant scene, very young. You don't really go out Friday/Saturday night here, not enough dancing type bars, but it's awesome for just about every other occasion. Central location for everywhere that you would go in any situation though.
