Camden South Capitol reviews and highlights

Beautiful apartment for cheaper than studios in Foggy Bottom
Because the Navy Yard neighborhood is undergoing a fair amount of construction (it's "up and coming"), some of the apartment buildings are offering apartments for cheaper than you might expect.
The studios are out of my price range, but the 2 bedroom apartments with a roommate were way cheaper than studios in Foggy Bottom.
The building was just built in 2013, so there are no insects or pests, no structural issues, and is insulated incredibly well (we keep the air/heat off most of the time and the apartment stabilizes at around 70 degrees).
But the best part is that the apartment itself is beautiful and modern. The kitchen has relatively high-end appliances, there's an in-unit washer and dryer, and the bathrooms are HUGE. Overall, for the price that I managed to get it at you get a LOT out of the apartment, and it feels like you are not living on a student budget even though you'll be spending less than your classmates in Foggy.
Maintenance requests are responded to within a day usually. My only complaint is that management is not the most flexible. We had a few issues at the beginning with payment processing and application submissions and they took weeks to solve the problem and were not inclined to offer much in return for the inconvenience. However, once we got in and didn't have to interact with them at all, the experience has been great.
Parking is a bit expensive ($125/mo) but because it's 2 blocks from the Navy Yard metro station, you don't need to have a car to live here. And some might complain about the safety of the neighborhood, but with ordinary vigilance and city-smarts, you won't have a problem. I do typically stay inside after around 10pm, but that's a personal safety choice and others may not feel constricted.

Pretty Solid Place to Live
Nice building in an up-and-coming neighborhood. Like most places in this area of DC, it's pretty expensive, but if you want to be near the ballpark, you can't get any closer. The neighborhood behind the building is still a little sketchy, but if you stay in the Navy Yard area you shouldn't have any problems.

Great Building and Management!
I had a great experience at Camden South Capitol. It has great amenities including a dog park, large rooftop with grills and a pool, new gym, and social room. Best of all- management is great and very responsive, and the concierges are awesome.

Love Camden Living before the rent hike
Camden is a great apartment, with a bright gym, amazing upper roof deck, and very friendly and attentive staff. I would love to continue my lease, as I have in the past. However, the second year of lease renewal has seen a significant price hike.

Great Value
This brand-new building is a great value. The management is great about responding to requests and work orders (usually within a couple hours of putting in a work order, the issue is fixed). The building is well-maintained and very clean. While there are pets in the apartment, and I'm sure they have accidents, they are never left for more than a couple minutes. Location near the ballpark and metro line is very convenient.

Camden South Capitol
The apartments are still fairly new. The building is always very clean. Management is quick to address any compaints about the building or between residents. The pool and gym are both really nice. The surrounding area is still rough, but they are working on it.
