A little pricey, but worth it.

Nice building with a really great list of features. It's a little pricey, but there are ways to make it cheaper for yourself. I live in a "sunroom," which is not quite a bedroom, but can work really well. 24-hour "concierge" means there's a front desk staffed at all times by the loveliest people. Honestly, a great building.

Good value overall

Good place to live especially for younger and gives option to move someone into sun room to reduce rent. Walls are very thin and parking is expensive but overall very good. Kitchen is small. The garbage disposal is on the wrong side of the sink, can barely fit normal sized dishes let alone big pots and pans (baffling how that could even happen, guessing a screw up no one bothered to fix). Burners on the stove are poor quality and tilted. Make it hard to cook and clean overall.

I like it so far

It's very convenient and good for the price I pay. The gym is small, but definitely has everything I could need. Parking isn't included and I would like at least one more bathroom. I have lived there for a little more than 1 year and like it so far.

Great Place for Young Professionals

Love my apartment here. Close to all the Caps games and bar/night scene afterwards. Also the restaurant options within walking distance are just fantastic. Pool on the roof in the summer is also a great feature. Would recommend this place to anyone under 30 looking to truly enjoy DC.

Want more amenities

The building has a great community feel while being private and spacious. The general upkeep is good, sometime I will find trash on the floor, but nothing awful. I wish there were more amenities included, like a gym and free parking. Overall, the building is a great place to live.

Love living there

The building is newly renovated! I really like living there. Only downside is living in the sunroom because there is no air vent in that room. But the vent is right outside of the room, so leaving the doors open during the day usually fixes that issue.

Meridian at Gallery Place

Nice lobby and apartments are good size. On site gym is good too. The area is vibrant and there are plenty of restaurants there. The chinatown metro is close by, which means there's plenty to do there. The building has plenty of units available based on people's needs

Great apartment!

Overall this is a great apartment! The staff is attentive and most are easy to work with. There is someone at the front desk 24 hours a day and they do a great job with knowing who lives in the building and who doesn't. The apartment units are nice, the only downside is that there could be more light in the living rooms.

Great location, full of young professionals

The Meridian at Gallery Place has a great location. I love that it is accessible to every metro line in the DC area. It is also about a block away from the entrance to 395. The residents of the building are young professionals and the staff is friendly. There is coffee in the morning and the gym is nice. Two possible cons are: (1) Parking is a bit pricey for the garage space you get. (2) The sunroom is a bit difficult to regulate heat in. My experience in this building has been nothing but great! I feel safe (FOB accessible only) and it is close to everything I need!

Best deal in the area

Great combination of location and amenities. The doormen are amazing. They are incredibly friendly and helpful and do a good job keeping the building secure. There are tons of young professionals living here which has its pros and cons depending on what you are looking for.

Penn Quarter Reviews

19 reviews
There are always places to eat and things to do. Also the apartment is only about 1 mi from the Mall so it's great if you are a runner. In terms of getting to work it typically takes me 50min-1 hour on the metro one way and the metro stop is a couple of blocks from the building. I typically drive to work which (by commuting slightly before peak morning traffic and slightly after peak evening traffic) is around 35-40 min one way. The building is right off of 395, which means you don't have to do too much city driving ever.
Penn quarter is close to most places. Out of three roommates, two of us work in NoMa and one works near Farragut. All three of us walk when it is nice weather. The area doesn't have a lot of really cool, cultural bars but for every day places they are totally fine. There are lots of nearby groceries - safeway and walmart are walking distance from me. Its a safe area that can be a little pricey for rent.
I enjoy the fact that there are numerous places to eat and happy hour at in the neighborhood. My only complaint is that it doesnt necessarily have a "club" or "lounge spot".
Great neighbourhood if you like city life. Busy, loud, fairly safe area. Extremely accessible to the metro. Fairly central area. Near the Verizon center. Lots of restaurants and bars. Near the national mall. Can walk to work if I wanted to. Grocery stores close. No complaints for living in Chinatown!
The area is safe and easily accessible by bus and metro. You can access the Red, Blue/Orange and Yellow/Green within a few blocks of walking. The area is close to Chinatown but far enough away if you want a break from all the people and. There are great restaurants and bars that are great for both residents and those new to DC.
There are great restaurants, a weekly farmers market, plenty of events, walking distance to the mall, and many museums. It's within walking distance to a couple of grocery stores and it's easy to access the busses and metro.
Very safe and lots of restaurants and bars. It is great for dinner and happy hour. Very close to the mall and all the monuments. Great for running and outdoor activities. Life night and day.
Tons of awesome restaurants nearby! If you’re more of a bar hopper it’s perhaps not for you, but close metro means those spots are a 10 min ride away!
