1500 Locust reviews and highlights
- Some units are renovated with stainless steel appliances and new carpets
- Rent is pretty expensive
- Good mix of young families, retirees, young professionals, and graduate students

- Office staff and maintenance people are wonderful and respond very quickly to complaints
- Only complaints are the slow elevators and the fire alarms that go off at night sometimes

- Fantastic maintenance staff and doormen
- Wonderful amenities
- Nice gym with dumbbells, weight machines and cardio equipment

- The walls don't insulate very well during the winter months
- Great place to live
- Resident's lounge is fantastic
Great for Wharton students!
Great building and close to the Wharton community (many students living here). While there may be other places that offer a better value, I believe this is a great option for 1-2 years.

Solid Building
All good just the elevators are a bit slow.
Safe choice, but a little dull
It's a great building but apartments are old and boring.
Great Location and amenities, but a little expensive
The building has amazing location, lots of Wharton students and ideal facilities (large gym, rooftop, lounge, pool..). Management is friendly and efficient in solving any sort of issues in the apartment. Great view in the top floors. I have only 2 bad things to say about 1500 Locust: elevators can take long and rent is quite high for a 1 bedroom...
Management leaves a lot to be desired
Management is not really helpful, elevators breakdown one in a while, Terrible neighbors. It is really important you check who your neighbors are, if possible have Wharton students as your neighbors since they have the same schedule.

Great Building!
The building is good. Amazing pool, gym and rooftop. Downside - expensive, waiting time for elevator.
1500 Locust Apartments are overpriced
Getting very expensive

Unresponsive management and constant problems with the elevators
I HATE the building management. Elevators are constantly broken, forcing me to walk up 21 flights of stairs. Management is totally unresponsive. Package delivery is a mess. Too expensive for service.

If You Have Allergies and Need A New, Clean Unit, Live Here.
I am highly allergic to mold, and I chose 1500 Locust because Wharton students told me it would be the cleanest, most recently renovated place to live. (Older buildings are problematic for me; they are more likely to contain mold due to leaky pipes, rotting wood, or damp surfaces beneath floors and above ceilings.) I love my apartment. It was renovated just before my move-in date with modern kitchen appliances (i.e. stainless steel fridge), new carpets, and finished wood floors. Most units in this building are completely carpeted (aside from the tiled kitchen and bathroom), but luckily my apartment has a wood floor living room. Wood is a safer option for me than carpet, due to my allergies, but I also haven't had any trouble with the carpet in my bedroom. The gym is convenient and includes a spectacular view of Philadelphia skyscrapers. The downside to this building is that there are only 3 elevators (+ 1 service elevator) covering over 40 floors. Elevator wait times are very long, and this year at least one elevator has been out of operation ~50% of the time. It is frustrating, and everyone complains, but I would not move out of the building solely due to long elevator waits.

Rittenhouse Square Reviews
Spruce Street in particular is great - it's a little south of the square, so is quieter/shielded from a lot of the traffic that the neighborhood gets, but it's not out of the way or far away. There's a Starbucks, a grocery store (Rittenhouse Market), and a few corner stores (Four Seasons and Food & Friends) within a 2-3 minute walk of my apartment.
