Fun but strict

this apartment is located near GWU and other busy areas of DC. It is close to the metro which makes it very convenient for commuters. The rooftop pool and grills are great for the summer!! The staff is strict and safety is very poor. Anyone is able to go into the apartment and up to the rooms. It seems almost like a dorm due to the amount of students

Stunning Architecture

The Gatsby Mansion is quite spectacular and the gothic-style architecture is stunning. With more than 20,000 square feet, it's the perfect place to throw epic parties. The Olympic size swimming pool adds to the place's glamour as well. Luckily, there are no nearby neighbors so we haven't had any issues with noise complaints. Unfortunately, the mansion is not metro-accessible so it's a little hard to get around, but the four-car garage makes up for that. It would be nice if there were nearby dining and nightlife options. While a little over-priced, the Gatsby Mansion has been an excellent place to live.

Great Location

This apartment has the best location! It is located close to GWU and is close to many convenience stores and Georgetown shops! I would highly recommend it to any GWU student. It is also great for pets, everybody seems to have pets! There is a balanced mix of students and adults.

Living in 2400 M

2400 M is an excellent apartment located perfectly between GW and Georgetown. It is also adjacent to Trader Joe's. Perks include a rooftop with a pool, running track and grill. There is also a gym! Only downside is the cost. There are other apartments that aren't as nice, but a lot cheaper than here.

Fabulous building in the heart of foggy bottom

Amazing building with a great updated, hotel feel to it. The rooftop pool and fitness center cannot be beat. Conveniently located near grocery, dry cleaning, gyms, metro, and bus routes. Rent is steep but the package and safety features cannot be beat in the area.

2400 as a Student

One of the reasons why 2400 is great is because of its location right next to Trader Joe's. It is also nice to be so close to Georgetown. The walk to Foggy Bottom and the cost of living isn't as nice as other apartments, but I have no serious complaints about this. I love the rooftop pool and grill in the summer time!

Great at first glance, cracks below the surface

This is one of the stereotypical DC high-rises in that it looks nice but when you look again it's falling apart. First the good: it's in an awesome area. You can always find a cab, Georgetown and Dupont are really close, metro access is easy, and it shares a block with Trader Joe's. They allow pets. This is the biggest apartment I found in the area for the price, though it is of course a ridiculous price for housing (welcome to DC). The cafe downstairs has amazing sandwiches.

But it really isn't all good. With the rooms, the devil is in the details: if you go on a tour, pay special attention to where the racks are located in the closets (weirdly low) and where the doors open (i.e., into the closets so you can't put things behind them, into the shower, completely blocking the kitchen hallway, etc.) The walls are by no means soundproof (I have a gamer on one side and a dog across the hall). There are plants that attract small bugs that bite on the roof by the pool (found that out the hard way, i.e., in a swimsuit). There is no printer in the business center, and the common areas are so freakishly cold that you have to wear a jacket if you want to spend any amount of time in them. The courtyard has no seating (what is the point of it? Do I go walk around the first floor dwellers' backyards?)

Also not the safest building (I'd go into detail but don't want to broadcast where I think they're deficient on the internet!) Roof doesn't have enough security, which I think is clear to everyone, but it doesn't seem that any steps are being taken to make it safer.

Bottom line: if you have to live in this area of town, you need space, and you don't have unlimited funding, this is probably where you'll end up. It's not the worst thing in the world, but you need to use your common sense to keep yourself safe, build relationships with the people who work here, and use some creativity when you're trying to figure out how to use your closet.

Great apartment. Not the best for Undergrad students

So my friends and I picked this apartment because we didn't want to live in the typical crappy apartment or townhouse. It's a great building. Beautiful apartment and finishing. We love it. It's worth the rent price. The one thing we didn't expect is that it's not tailored to students. So it's quiet all the time and neighbors and management are sensitive to loud noises. If you're a student looking to throw parties and pregames, this is probably too fancy. But I think it's perfect for a grad student or young professional. It's probably one of the nicer apartments in the area for the rent. Close walk to metro, Trader Joe's and GW. Great building in general.

Luxury Apartment Building

It is a nice luxury apartment building located in Foggy Bottom/Georgetown area. Its residents are mostly GW students or other young professionals. Awesome rooftop with pool, areas for grilling, and chairs - great place to have friends over. The apartments themselves are very nice too. I recommend this building.

Great Place to Live

This has been a great place to live! The location of the apartment allows me to be in walking distance of many cool places. It's definitely the best location of all the apartments I've looked at in the past few years. I love being so close to the mall and shopping... it is the true DC experience!

West End Reviews

West End is fine. It's safe, there's easy access to transportation and plenty of supermarkets. But it's boring as anything - a neighborhood of hotels and office buildings. It's also overly pricey without really giving you much in return. As someone who had to move to DC on short notice - I picked West End based on location and little else - and I mostly came out of my time living here wishing I had done more research before signing my lease.
Safe neighborhood, great transportation hub with multiple bus stops less than a minute's walk from the apartment and a 5 minute walk to the metro. Some restaurants and bars nearby as well. Ten minute (at most!) walk to GW campus! My only gripe is that it's an expensive neighborhood but the apartment is competitively priced for the area.
The neighborhood is perfect. Ten minute walk to school, five minute walk to the metro. CVS and Walgreens just ten minutes away, trader joes just 3 minutes away, Whole Foods ten minutes away. There is a bus stop with a bunch of bus routes directly in front of the building. This neighborhood is also close to a bunch of other great neighborhoods, just a 20 minute walk to DuPont Circle and Georgetown where there are restaurants, bars, and stores. The monuments (the Lincoln) are only a 25 minute walk down 23rd street. There are numerous gyms nearby and the school gym is only a ten minute walk from the apartment. The area is probably the safest in the city and there is not a lot of noise over the normal city noise. It is next to the GW Hospital so ambulances going by can be annoying but not overly so. This neighborhood is great and close to every amenity.
I like the west end library and the l Trader Joe’s but other than that it is a little quiet and mostly filled with hotels. There aren’t very many food options either. It’s a close walk to Georgetown which is nice.
This neighborhood has everything a millennial needs - a CVS, Soulcycle, Sweetgreen, and great bars/restaurants. Highly recommend because it's quiet and really close to DuPont Circle and the GW Metro.
ONE BLOCK FROM TRADER JOES!! 5 min to Georgetown, 10 min to Dupont, 8 minute bike ride to campus. Bars & restaurants. Across the street from the dog park.
Hard to beat the Foggy Bottom area. Safe and close to everything you would need to be productive and have a great med school experience.
Some of the neighbors are great. It gets pretty dead very early here. There have been a few instances of intruders in the building.
