Nice building, but can be expensive

I got a decent deal on a studio, so I took it. The building and the facilities are nice (rooftop, gym etc.). Price can be high and is algorithm-driven so often non-negotiable. It is a little far from Campus compared to some other buildings.

Great Unit, Premium Fixtures, Overrated Amenities, Rough Location

My wife and I love the layout and fixtures in our apartment. They are definitely nicer than other options (2116 Chestnut) and 1919 has more availability than other buildings. Although the washer / dryer are the terrible small Bosch appliances. The gym is ok (minimal free weights) despite the cost. Worst part is living on market across from Wawa. We have had multiple scary run-ins and characters who follow us into the building. The one block distance from Chestnut to Market makes a big difference.

Nice apartments, friendly receptionists, street not great.

I really like my apartment -- it's nice and works well. The receptionists are incredibly nice and welcoming, making me feel safe; however, Market St. is pretty dirty and commercial.

High Quality Building but Issues

High quality building with nice amenities, concierge, etc. but extremely expensive for what it is. Market street is not very nice to live on. Parking is very expensive. Dealing with management is a pain (rents change weekly) and they have no flexibility (I was forced into a 9 month lease because they were charging $1k per month more for a 12 month lease). Overall I'd say a good place to start but better options in the area. If their rents were more reasonable and they dropped their absurd approach to deciding rents I would be inclined to give it a higher review.

Love the amenities and community here

Chose this building over other similar options (2116, 2040, etc.) because of amenities and the strong community I've been able to build while here

Great Apartment

Location is fabulous. It's close to everything and the trolley is right outside to get to school. The rest is definitely on the higher side but it is worth it for the amenities, especially like the rooftop, pods and pool. Maintenance is also good, and the staff is pretty responsive. The rental office is slow at responding to emails so be prepared for that. My only complaint is that the foyer is constantly cluttered with packages, which sometimes can ruin the look of the entrance. But this may change as COVID circumstances change.

Awesome building

I am a first-year Wharton student living alone and love 1919. The building is very nice and the front desk / maintenance are responsive. Gym, pool, rooftop, study rooms, kitchen and lounge are all great. Golf simulator is an added plus. Location is awesome since it is very close to the heart of Rittenhouse square. There are a lot of Wharton students, which I really like, but could see how that might be off-putting to some people. Overall, I would highly, highly recommend living here to anyone interested.

Loved the neighborhood. Paying for monthly parking in a nearby garage was not outrageously expensive, was close to center city for fun and errand-running, Target and Whole Foods nearby made for easy groceries when I didn’t want to leave the city. Sabrina’s Cafe is nearby, which is super delicious. BSL was about an 8 minute walk to either Spring Garden or Race-Vine, depending on if I was going north or south. Great area for walking around and getting out of your apartment.
The apartment is technically between Logan Square and Rittenhouse Square. We live right above Trader Joe's, which makes grocery shopping a breeze. We spend a lot of time walking around Rittenhouse Square and Rittenhouse neighborhood to pick up groceries, drink coffee, and generally hang out with each other and friends. The river walk is a short walk away, and the Museum District is within walking distance. Back when I was going to school regularly, the Septa trolley stop is conveniently right in front of our apartment and the 30th Street Station is a 10 minute walk away. While the amenities leave some things to be desired and we pay a premium for our location, it is a great place to live especially for newcomers to Philadelphia who want to be next to all the action.
Unless you mind the noise of cars in the street below, you will not have any issues. Given that is center city there are many people experiencing homelessness so if that is a deal breaker I recommend other neighborhoods. The upside is being 5-10 minutes distance from all the fun, restaurants, activities, nightlife, etc.. that you will ever need.
Super close to Whole Foods and Trader Joes, and I love the walk along the parkway. It's close to various museums which is great! Overall the neighborhood is pretty residential, but there are coffee shops and to-go restaurants that are easy to access.
The neighborhood is a little more commercial but only a minute away from everything wonderful in rittenhouse. But it feels very safe at all times because it’s on a major street.
It is a great location. The law school is a 15 minute walk. Most of Center City is also within a 20 minute radius. A lot of other law students live nearby.
Lots of great bars and restaurants in the area. One of the safest and nicest areas in Philly. There are generally lots of people walking around.
Close to tons of great places to eat/drink, shop, etc. Walking distance to anything in Center City/Callowhill/Art Museum areas.
