Love This Place!

I absolutely love this building, the management team, and the staff. It is a gorgeous building, and my studio is perfect for me. It's more space than you see offered on the market lately in this area, and it immediately feels homey. Everyone in the building is incredibly friendly!

Great Location & Views

This condo building is conveniently located. The management has been great and communicates often and clearly. The door staff is wonderful and the building feels safe. The amenities are lacking although it has a pool and small gym. The laundry room is dated and there are no dog runs. However, you will get great views regardless of the condo you are living in.

Beautiful View

Living at 111 E Chestnut St has been great! We live on a high floor and have a great view of the west side. The gym is large and has everything we need. There is also a convenient laundry room, pool and garbage shoot on every floor. The front desk staff is so friendly and knows everyone by name. There are convenient storage rooms on the 9th floor that fit a lot of extra items.

Love the building! Hate the Landlord!!!

I love love love love my condo building. I love the amentities. I love the door staff. I love the maintenance men. It is a great building with really nice people who live here.

As much as I love my building, I am not happy with my apartment unit or landlord. I wanted to move out of my apartment after 3 days of living in my home when my lease started due to having water issues and my landlord not being accessible and him taking forever to respond... to water damage... I have had a lot of issues in my apartment... reasonable issues... heat/ ac issues/ garbage disposable... and had issues ahold of my landlord.... my landlord is not an accessible landlord and is not a nice landlord or a nice person in general. I would recommend moving into my building but def not my unit as my landlord is a mean, grumpy man.

Magnificent Mile Reviews

Pros: very safe, great transportation options in the Red line and all the busses you can think of, close to all of the entertainment and social life options of River North without the price

Cons: 35-50 minute commute via the 2 to Hyde Park (but it's a great bus! Mostly U of C commuters and very reliable.)
The building is located just off of Mag Mile, so there's a lot of people around and great restaraunts and shopping! It's perfect that it's not directly on Mag Mile, however, because you have less congestion and noise around you.
Streeterville is River North's cheaper, more serious little brother. Mostly students, people who work in the loop, hospital staff, and tourists.
Since the apartment is right on N Michigan, the area can be a bit touristy, however, it's easy to avoid walking on Michigan ave by going out the side or basement door of the building, depending on where you're heading. I do feel very safe living here. Michigan ave is always very well lit at night. The commute to school is less than 10 minutes. The Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Jewel Osco are all about a 5 minute walk away, and the Target is 10 minutes away.
It feels safe and easy to get around, but a large part of it is the hospital so there is a bit less to do than other neighborhoods. That being said, it is so close to River North, Gold Coast etc., that it's not hard to find great restaurants and bars.
The neighborhood is very bougie, but that's the area around magnificent mile, streeterville, and gold coast (this is the edge of all three)
Very close to the hospital, just 2 blocks away. It's on the north side of campus so more quiet, a bit farther from where other people tend to live though.
Very close to campus
