A little pricey but excellent location

Virginia Highlands Apartments is both on the pricier side and the smaller side (apartment and gym are small), but I think it's in one of the best locations in Atlanta. Connected to the beltline and across the street from Piedmont park. The commute to and from school is about 15 minutes in the morning and 20 in the evening. I love being able to walk to restaurants, bars, and other stores.

Virginia Highlands

Love the location and it is nice to be a little farther from the medical school to get outside of the Emory bubble

Great location, okay apartment

Virginia highlands is a great neighborhood and I highly recommend living here. Close enough to school but still feels like living in the city. This apartment is in a great location right on the belt line and just across the beltline from Trader Joe’s, a movie theater, and a bunch of restaurants. It’s new constructions so it’s one of the few places that has 2bed/2bath but it’s nothing special. Vinyl floors, carpet in the bedroom, fairly basic. We had a lot of matienance issues since moving in and that’s been a huge inconvenience for me but my roommate doesn’t seem to mind as much.

Unbeatable location, basic housing

VaHi Apartments has one of the best locations; however, the apartment is rather basic in it's offering (i.e. electric stove, no washer dryer, etc.).

Great place to live!

The location is fantastic! We live right next to the belt line and piedmont park. I often walk to Trader Joes for groceries. The gym isn't big, but it has the basics that you need for a good workout. Also the staff is very friendly and helpful! Every time I go to the office to pay my rent or pick up a package, I have a cup of coffee and a good laugh with whoever is working. The rent is at the top of my budget, but I look forward to going home and utilizing the environment around me. I highly recommend Virginia Highland Apartments!

Awesome location

The apartment themselves are no-frills, although the location is fantastic. Easy access to the Highlands, Beltline and Piedmont Park. Shopping and restaurants nearby as well. If you don't spend much time in the apartment, this location is for you!

Getting around Virginia Highland

Virginia Highland Reviews

17 reviews
The neighborhood is great and my apartment unit is within walking distance of several coffee shops/sandwich places/bookstores/etc. The intersection of Virginia and N. Highland has dozens of places to eat and several sports bars for nightlife.
Pros:

Quiet, attractive homes and neighborhood, great proximity to Emory and all other in-town neighborhoods, can spend the entire weekend without using your car if you wanted, tons of bars and restaurants around.

Cons:

Vibe of bars / restaurants is more casual / low key / divey so if you are looking for something more high end and urban in terms of high rises and newer build, I would look at Midtown or Buckhead.

I think this is an ideal neighborhood. Inman Park might be the only other area I would consider above the Highlands.
The neighborhood is wonderful! There are plenty of things to walk to, and it seems very close to all of the other neighborhoods in Atlanta. The beltline is basically in my backyard, so that is a huge plus as well.
My neighborhood is very walkable and has a bunch of restaurants/ bars near by. It also has very easy access to the Beltline which you can take to Krog St. Market, Piedmont Park, or Ponce City Market.
VaHi is a perfect launching point to get to campus quickly (5-10mins) as well as walk to attractions like Ponce City Market, the Beltline, and all the bars students are likely to go to. I've got beautiful houses, an abundance of uber drivers, and a lot of history in the neighborhood. It's perfectly located to quickly get anywhere in town. The only downside is that crime as gotten worse in the neighborhood since I've lived there with more car break-ins and late night muggings, but I think that's true across Atlanta.
Walkable, lots of restaurants/bars/coffee shops/stores nearby.
Virginia Highlands is the perfect location if you are looking for a quiet neighborhood close to everything Atlanta has to offer. Great restaurants, nightlife and close the Beltline for all your workout needs.
