READ BEFORE CONSIDERING APT - DO NOT MOVE HERE

If I could review this apartment in the NEGATIVES I absolutely would. I have never in my life lived in a worse apartment. I'll start with the most recent issue then move into the LIST of other problems I've had here.

2 weekends ago, I was away in Texas when I got a call saying simply that a pipe burst and my kitchen was flooded (again) but that it would be fixed. When I got back it was in fact NOT fixed. I mean there was this gross orange-brown stain all over the kitchen and floor and cabinets (ended up being literal feces). Now at no point for 2 WEEKS did anyone tell me that it was SEWAGE. I went in today to get the last of my things out and try to clean up a bit so I wouldn't be charged an insane fee for their mess only to find out after 3 hours of being in there that it was sewage that me and my dog were around and cleaning. (yes if either of us get sick we absolutely will be suing as its too late to report them for the many health hazards I dealt with) I mean there has to be some law about not telling tenants that a SEWAGE pipe bursted then not cleaning it up and just leaving it for the tenants to deal with right?

Now onto the next issues (I'll only list most of these and just a short description for each.

⁃ my apartment (kitchen and entry hall) was flooded from the painting crews power washing halls and when I told them to stop they wouldn't. I called the apartment and all they did was bring me 3 towels to clean up the literal floods of water coming in from the floor boards (which I appreciate but that should never have happened in the first place. ALSO I was not the only apartment that got flooded from this.)

⁃ When I moved in my sink was literally missing pieces and wasn't fixed for a few weeks so it was unusable.

- Multiple outlets didn't work at move in (old apartment I understand but that shouldn't have been an issue in a RENOVATED apartment)
- Kitchen sink plumbing was messed up/sized wrong and flooded the kitchen multiple times AGAIN
⁃ 3 ant infestations over the course of a month or so (took the third one plus my mother (after me calling and talking to management multiple times did nothing) and me calling before they finally sent pest control they only came because it was the day they always come to all the apartments. Confirmed by pest control guy that he was never called in. I'm not talking a few ants here and there, I'm talking HUNDREDS of them constantly biting me (bathroom, closet, kitchen)
⁃ My toilet would randomly flood SEWAGE even if I hadn't touched it. (like I would just be brushing my hair then it would make weird noises and then disgusting sewage water would come up and overflow and clog it.
⁃ I had waited nearly a month and called multiple times and yet still no one had come to fix my broken patio door (finally fixed) small issue but still an issue nonetheless
⁃ There was a hole in my bedroom ceiling with wires sticking out (possibly was supposed to be a fire alarm/smoke detector)
⁃ Front door barely shuts without force - again small issue but still annoying
⁃ Maintenance has just WALKED IN multiple times while I’m sleeping or in the shower (count at 3 times now) Yes I put do not enter without permission down for everything so WTH.
⁃ Main gate is CONSTANTLY breaking and homeless walk past my windows and dumpster dive
⁃ Shooting (2-3 dead) down the street (NOT the apartments fault but added to safety concerns with broken gates and zero security)
- 2 Kitchen drawers randomly fell apart (not a big issue but annoying still)
- Power has gone out almost every time it snows (again not a big issue but annoying)
- Someone hit my PARKED truck in my designated spot but the apartment refused to do anything about it or even check any sort of footage for me.
- Oh my last night there a homeless guy tried to break in but I was awake because my smoke detector went off at 3am and wouldn't turn off and maintenance wouldn't come turn it off

Great place, great location

Easy to get to, right next to the highway and several bus route options up to campus.
Too many restaurants within walking distance.
Safe neighborhood.
Very close to sugarhouse park.
Most units are recently renovated but be sure to confirm when working with the leasing office.

Irving School House

Located in Sugarhouse area. Very close to lots of fun stuff, commute to school is about 15 mins. Balcony and view of mountains are a bonus. Lots of 2 bed rooms have been renovated within the last year and have wood floors and a fire place. Overall I'm satisfied.
