I have no real complaints about my apartment complex at this time. The location is great if you are looking for quick access to the mountains. The entrances to Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons are about 10-15 minutes away respectively and easy to get to. Cottonwood Heights is not the best location for someone looking for an active social scene as opposed to a location closer to downtown such as Sugar House. Regarding safety, I personally haven't had any negative experiences yet, but I have only been living in my apartment for about 9 months. If your apartment faces Highland Drive, the noise from the street can be a problem in the spring/summer if you want to leave your balcony door open. I have had to make one maintenance call and the staff was friendly and responsive and corrected my problem. My experiences with the front office have been positive up to this point. Noise from other apartments has never really been an issue for me. The only exception has been the ceiling, which is due to footsteps/objects falling on the floor, etc. and not voices/tv/music. Access to public transit is very close. There is a bus stop at the intersection of Highland Drive and Bengal Boulevard, which is right outside the apartment complex. The 220 bus takes you right to campus and the usual transit time can vary between 35-45 or so minutes.
