Nothing fancy but great for students

While there's nothing luxurious or extravagant about living at Post, it serves its purpose. The price of rent is very reasonable for the size and space of the apartment. The location is pretty convenient too as it's close to grocery stores, restaurants, and anything else you may need. There's a free bus that Emory students can take if you don't have a car or don't have a parking pass which is convenient. We live on the top floor so we don't hear a lot of noise. However, I've been in my friends units where you can hear people walking around all the time. My only main complaint is that maintenance can be unreliable. Sometimes they're pretty quick but usually it takes them a couple of weeks to address anything that they don't consider to be an emergency. The front office staff is friendly and easy to work with.

GBS Extended Campus Feel

About 50-100 GBS students every year live in Post Briarcliff apartments. It is a mixture of 1 and 2 year MBA students in first or second year of study. The community is large so it doesn't feel like a dorm and also allows for many informal social opportunities. Finishes are typical of earl 2000s style apartments but some refurbished models are available which are with nicer finishes but are also hundred of dollars more expensive.

Clean and Safe

Like:
The apartment complex is clean and safe compared with other apartment complexes which are close to Post Briarcliff. Parking is free, which is great.
Also, rooms are larger and cheaper than Emory Point. Rooms have a gas oven, which Emory Point doesn't have.

Dislike:
A little bit far from the school, which is obviously not walking distance.

Close to Campus, Close to your Classmates

Post Briarcliff is a reasonably affordable property that is about 3 miles to campus and where almost 30-40 more members of your class will be. Really easy to get to campus by shuttle or catching a ride with your neighbors. A little bit longer of a hike to nightlife and bars.

Pros: Great soundproofing, generally very quiet, gym, 2 pools
Cons: The gates have had a tendency to break, whiter countertops stain too easily, and maintenance can at times be slow

Close to Goizueta

Apartment complex is conveniently located near Goizueta Business School (average 10min drive). Some of the units have now been remodeled and look much newer than our current apartment. Maintenance has eventually fixed any issue we have had, but they do not always provide the most timely service. Back gate was not working on numerous occasions. Fun and convenient location for graduate students interested in a relatively inexpensive apartment.

Too much money for not enough apartment

The apartment is very dated and we have had a number of maintenance issues. In benchmarking our rent with comparable apartment complexes, I believe we are paying a premium just to be near Emory's campus. The one positive is if you are an Emory student, you will likely have a number of classmates as your neighbor

Getting around North Druid Hills

North Druid Hills Reviews

150 reviews
It's a prime location for getting around the city! I can get to midtown, Decatur, inman park, etc. in about a 20 min drive or less. The drive to school each morning is about 10-15 mins with little to no traffic. The area is safe with tons of restaurants and shopping. The only downside is that it's not close to any prime nightlife scene, but Ubers aren't too expensive. Incredibly safe which is something I was looking for as a woman living alone. There's no perfect place, but for the amount of space I have (850 sq ft), safety, proximity to school, and easy access to other areas in the city, it can't be beat.
North Druid Hills is a lovely neighborhood and one that I am happy to be living in as my first exposure to Atlanta. There are beautiful tree lined streets and its proximity to Emory is a great selling point.
Beautiful houses and trees, calm, quiet community.
It's an open area with trees. Very close to Emory campus as well as the Toco Hills plaza (Kroger, Publix, many restaurants). Further down Clairmont at the intersection with North Decatur road, there's another Publix as well as some other restaurants in the plaza.

Golden Drop Cafe--which has outdoor seating incase the pandemic is still uncontrolled when you read this--is just 3 min. down the road. Mason Mill Park, which has tennis courts, a pavillion, and walking trails, is also very near.
Very convenient location as far being somewhat close to a lot of different areas though it itself isn't where the night life or all the best restaurant areas are. Lots of grocery options very close by, including Whole Foods, Krogers and Publix.
My wife and I love walking through the beautiful homes in the local neighborhood. It is a very safe area even at night.
You can find any type of store or restaurant that you would ever need within a 5-15 minute drive.
My wife and I go on walks around sunset most nights through the neighborhood. Have never felt unsafe. Neighbors are all very friendly along our walks. Lots of beautiful homes to gawk at.
