MAA Briarcliff

Accessible to campus, nice gym, two nice pools, leasing office is great, quiet complex, lots of green space, 15mins to midtown

Nice location (close to campus). Near a lot of neighborhoods/shopping centers with lots of grocery stores and restaurants. Not the cutest area/not a lot of walking areas nearby. The apartment itself is a little older but they are nice. There are a lot of grill areas/2 pool areas. There are also a lot of medical students in the complex.

Quiet, safe, tons of parking...no complaints. Pretty spacious and clean...mostly modern...close to campus and groceries/food...probably is better for people with a car but that isn't a must have either

Post Briarcliff (aka MAA Briarcliff, they changed their name) is great bang for your buck for an apartment you live in during medical school. Cheap rent for a very nice and spacious apartment, really nice amenities and lots of beautiful scenery and outdoors areas nearby. Usually a lot of medical students live there, and there are great areas to gather (pool, grill areas). Management/maintenance can be a bit scatterbrained, but a very good place to live all things considered. Great location, too! Right near Emory and very close to grocery stores, restaurants, and other places of interest. Also, Google Fiber access and free parking is good.

I knew I wanted to live along but be near other medical students, so Post Briarcliff was the perfect choice as it also had the cheapest rent for a 1 bed 1 bath that I could find. Management can be a bit slow on responding to issue and some things may require going to the office to make sure they are resolved. There is a quick turnaround on maintenance requests and I have always been satisfied on how things were repaired or replaced. I live on the first floor and the floor are thin, so unfortunately I can hear my upstairs neighbor very often (talking, laughing, footsteps). All in all, it's pretty good for the price and location is excellent as it usually only takes me about 5 minutes to get from the parking lot of Post to the Michael Deck on campus.

I could not visit Atlanta to check out apartments before I moved in so I relied heavily on the management team at Post Briarcliff. I asked them for a unit with marble countertops and stainless steel appliances (these were my only must-haves). They could not confirm if the unit I was getting had those "because the current tenants hadn't moved out yet." That was very strange to me. Usually, the management team at apartment complexes can ask tenants to view their units or ask them for information about their units. It was a frustrating back-and-forth process. Then when I moved in, I noticed the tub was extremely dirty; turns out it needed to be resurfaced - why hadn't they done that BEFORE I moved in?! I had never experienced something like that before, and I have rented in NYC...Also, they took forever to give us our referral bonuses though they had a large sign at the front and back of the complex stating that they were. In addition, I have had a host of maintenance problems; some were completely fixed quickly, and others, not so much.

I chose Post because I did not have a car when I started and it is close to school and the Emory shuttle stops by here and a few GBS students who I had met were also living here.

Lots of Goizueta MBAs stay within Post, which makes it a very lively community. The apartments are good but the closest grocery store is a mile away and Emory shuttles come at a frequency of 20 mins

The management is truly terrible. They seem nice when you first go and everything looks great but once you sign they don't care about you anymore. I've been charged fees for things that I had already done, I had issues setting up my bank and they charged me for that, they are unresponsive, unhelpful, people have not received their referral bonus, I was delayed in moving in because they didn't send me the contract, I could go on... There is not a single human in the office that is rational and helpful. The apartment is cheap and the amenities are otherwise fine but just hope you don't have to deal with anyone in management.

Good apartment

Post (Now MAA) Briarcliff is a good development to live at if you want to be close to campus and want a larger space. I live in a one bedroom unit that has been renovated and is over 800 SF and has a large balcony. There are two pools, a gym, a car wash station/vacuum and the community is gated - the gate does not work sometimes and is left open. Management isn't amazing, but it has not been a true problem for me as I have not had any issues that I have really needed them to resolve. I live on the top floor and have never had any noise problems from the people on either side of me. Parking is easy right outside. I had thought that a ton of GBS students would live here based on reviews the past few years, but people have migrated towards Decatur and Old Fourth Ward so there are only a few remaining at Post. You are not that close to bars here, but there is easy access to grocery store and shops to run errands etc.
