Mendota Lakeshore

Mendota Lakeshore Apartments is located right next to Lake Mendota with its own amazing private pier and beautiful backyard with picnic tables, fire pits, and grills perfect for hosting summer BBQ parties. The gym is for residents only with pretty impressive equipments looking over Lake Mendota. It also has a tanning bed with complete amenities. Cheap gym membership fees ($20/mo or $150 annually). Totally worth it.

Super friendly and helpful onsite management and maintenance with prompt service. The laundry facility is good and clean, with 6 washers and 4 driers. Most packages are delivered to your door. Everything is within walking distance; 15 minutes walk to the business school, 5 minutes to State St., the capitol square is only 3-4 blocks away. Rent includes utilities, electricity, basic cable and internet, which makes your life a lot easier. You can also ask for space heaters for free if you feel like you need one.

You can use a landline phone to open the front door but it doesn't always work, so i always have to go downstairs to get my guests or food delivery.

I have nothing but great experience living in MLA. I highly recommend this place!

Our apartment at Mendota Lakeshore has been a great experience. Located at the bottom of Carroll Street we are only a 12-15 minute walk from Grainger and a 5-7 minute walk from downtown. There is a dock onto lake Mendota along with a nice communal patio with 2 grills for cook-outs, a nice gym and tanning facility (only $100 for the whole year), the management is SUPER nice and responsive, the laundry room is immaculate, it's surprisingly quiet for the location (an area with a lot of fraternity and sorority houses which are known to be a little loud when hosting parties) and everything (utilities and internet) is included in rent. We converted our third bedroom into a TV/2nd living room and love it! Only complaint is that the apartment complex is at the bottom of a fairly steep hill (free uphill butt workout!) which can be slippery in the winter; however, the management makes sure to salt the sidewalk promptly to mitigate any real hazard. Overall great value. Not as updated as some of the new complexes but definitely a good place to live for the duration of the MBA program.
