Very nice apartment
My apartment in Crowne Oaks is spacious and clean. Many other classmates also live in the complex and it is a short drive to campus. I have really enjoyed living here.

Crowne Oaks is a Great Value
I love the Crowne Oaks (aka CROAKES). Management is very timely. Maintenance is friendly. The pool is great in the summer. Value is fantastic. Clean, friendly, affordable.
The area is fine but can be boring. Living right off Silas Creek with all the car dealerships is no fun. Not a hip and young neighborhood. Outside walls are thin. My bedroom in next to outdoor stairs that lead up to the upstairs apartment and I can hear everything through the walls. That part sucks so much actually.

Crowne Oaks
Oaks is a great spot. Extremely close to campus. Quiet complex with good privacy. Only fail is the power goes out easily with all the surrounding brush/trees.

Crowne Oaks
This apartment is good for law students as there is a shuttle that takes you to the law school from the apartment. I looked at Crowne Oaks and Crowne Polo and they are very similar. Crowne Polo is slightly nicer and has more Wake law students that I have spoken with living there. I was able to get a lower price on rent at Crowne Oaks by living in a non-renovated apartment.

Review
I really like the community. Feels very safe. The amenities are very nice. The fireplaces are nice. Wish the first floor apartment porches were gated and not open. Neighbors all very nice as well as office staff and maintenance team. Love how close it is to the school. Wish the school would open the Polo Road Gate please. However, it is very, very expensive. Law school is basically bleeding me dry and also I feel like the administration doesn’t care about us at all. But, those are two separate issues.

Crowne Oaks is a waste
Crowne oaks is awful. It appears nice on the outside but the apartments are poorly made, there’s pests everywhere, it’s loud, you’re charged for paying rent if you pay any method other than a check, and the power goes out any time there is more than light wind. I strongly do not recommend. The rent is also much higher than anything in the area. If I didn’t go on house hunt and didn’t feel like I had to sign a lease then and like I would be completely removed from people If I didn’t live in the house hunt apartments (untrue in practicality), I would’ve gone elsewhere.

Apartment would be fine if it didn’t constantly lose power
This apartment would be adequate if it weren’t constantly losing power. No matter what type of storm — rain, snow, threat of strong winds — this complex loses power. As I type this review, I am currently without power. And not only does it lose power at minimum half a dozen times a year, the power stays out for days at a time. I’ve had to stay at friends’ (non-Crowne) apartments numerous times because of lost power. What is the point of paying rent to a box that never a has power? Beyond that, the apartment is still average. I’m in a renovated unit but the cabinets appear to clearly have been rushed as they don’t align properly. The bathroom is stupidly designed so that the only way to open the one drawer you’re given is if the bathroom door is shut. The apartment is pretty average, but I wouldn’t really care if it weren’t for the consistent power loss.

Good for what I pay for
It's good for student housing, and rent isn't very expensive. There can be a lot of bugs, but it's not too bad.
