Quiet
East Ithaca — 8.2/10 Rating (based on 17 neighborhood reviews)
The neighborhood is very nice - family and pet-friendly. It is within walking distance to campus during nice weather and very close to public transit stops. We bought a house because rent prices for places close to campus are very high, so buying a house made more sense to us financially.

There is not much in East Ithaca, but on the plus side, that means it's not too noisy. It is walk-able to Walgreen's, P&C Fresh (grocery), Dunkin Donuts, Burger King, Collegetown Bagels, Subway - all at Pine Tree Plaza. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to collegetown or campus.

It is a tranquil neighborhood, so it is study-friendly. There aren't many stores, so you would have to walk to Collegetown or make the long hike to P&G Fresh. Having a car will be great, or get used to car sharing or taxi driving to supermarkets stores.

Admittedly not much to do here but there is one shopping center a short walk away. My primary reason for choosing this neighborhood is the walk to campus, and also that many peers live walking distance or in the same neighborhood.

A bit off the beaten path, but has everything you need - grocery store, walgreens, CTB, Agava, Dunkin. Good to have a car if you want to travel around Ithaca.

The neighborhood is pretty quiet. There isn't much in the area besides Maplewood and a couple other apartment buildings. There is a small plaza that is only a few minute drive from Maplewood. The walk to Collegetown is pretty quick and easy which makes it convenient for going out.

Surrounded by cute, family neighborhoods that are nice to walk through. 15 minute walk to school. Can walk in 5 minutes to shopping center with Collegetown Bagels (the huge one with tons of seating), small grocery store, wine store, rite-aid, Dunkin Donuts, and Agava restaurant.

There's a grocery store and a few food options within short walking distance, and its also easy to walk to Sage or Collegetown.

The only downside is that it's a bit far to get to City Center which means a car or Uber is needed sometimes.

I like that the neighborhood is so quiet, and there are great trails nearby to walk my dog. It seems very family-friendly — many families with children live nearby, and it makes the area seem more neighborhood-like.

There are not that many places to eat. If you want to grab a bite you'll have to order a delivery or walk ~10min.
