Edgewood
"Centrally Located Affordable Neighborhood"
Edgewood is a vibrant, growing neighborhood near Atlanta. Many first-time homeowners find it to be a friendly, affordable place to live. Interestingly enough, Edgewood was considered its own town before becoming a part of Atlanta. In 1909, Atlanta experienced an economic boom and began reconstructing areas surrounding it - one of these areas was the neighborhood of Edgewood. Filled with highly-rated dining options, bars, and parks, the residents of Edgewood always have somewhere to go to enjoy themselves. For enjoying the nature scene, residents love to flock to nearby Coan Park, Walker Park, and Candler Park. The Edgewood Retail District is a large shopping complex home to many beloved stores like Target, Lowes, Kroger, PetCo, Barnes and Noble, and Best Buy - which is a convenient one-stop spot for residents. A MARTA station sits in the heart of the neighborhood.
Local restaurants to not miss include Ration and Dram, One-Eared Stag, Wrecking Bar Brewpub, Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, Shane’s Rib Shack, and San Francisco Coffee Roasting. There are also famous chains nearby if you are looking for the familiar - like Five Guys, McDonalds, and Checkers. Edgewood is a lovely neighborhood - perfect for anyone looking for a centrally-located, growing community with plenty of things to do.

Neighborhood feel, but easy access to downtown. Walking distance to Edgewood Retail District (which has a Target, Kroger, Lowes, Bed Bath & Beyond, and more). Also walking distance to downtown Candler Park and Little Five Points restaurants.

Spoke Apartments
Close to MARTA, L5P and Edgewood Shopping Center. Not very walkable to much, though. Sidewalks are busted and there are some really run down houses owned by slumlords.

Great area with lots to do (bars, restaurants, music venues) that is all very walk-able from the apartment. There are a good deal of homeless as well but I've never had a problem.
