Wellshire

Residential Extension of University Park
Wellshire is a charming residential neighborhood home to all ages. The community is known for its tree-lined streets, large lots, and beautiful homes, making it a desirable place to live short-term or long-term.

For students, Wellshire is conveniently located near the University of Denver’s campus, which is situated just north of the neighborhood. Many graduate and undergraduate students live in this area because of the proximity to campus and the safety.

For families, it is good to notice that Wellshire is home to several excellent public and private schools. Elementary schools in the area include Slavens K-8 School and Wellshire Elementary School, both of which are highly regarded by parents and students.

Wellshire is also surrounded by several beautiful parks, including the Wellshire Golf Course, which is a popular spot for golf enthusiasts. Other nearby parks include Mamie D. Eisenhower Park, which features playgrounds, picnic areas, and sports fields; Robert H. McWilliams Park, which is dog-friendly; and Observatory Park, which has a planetarium and a scenic walking trail.

The neighborhood is nice and quiet! It is 10 minutes from downtown, and a less than 30 minutes from the closest hikes. There are many single-family homes and parks nearby, which makes for a nice place to walk with friends or your dog. It would be nice to have more food options nearby, but it is within delivery range of many places and is a quick drive to food as well!

The neighborhood is fairly quiet. I was able to join a "Neighborhood" app where you can communicate problems, events, ideas, or whatever else with people near you. University House has a parking garage so you do not have to worry about people breaking into your car.

The neighborhood where the apartment is located feels safe overall. It is located in a nice neighborhood a 15-minute walk from campus, but it has had some bike/car theft. The downside of the location is that it is not close to many restaurants or shops, and the public transport nearby is pretty limited unless you walk over a mile to the light rail.

Coming directly from undergrad it felt like I was in the same kind of location, which I liked. It's active with pets, people exercising, etc. The walk to class is super quick and the area has lots of food/drinks options. Very nice surrounding neighborhood with tons of family houses so safety for me wasn't an issue when walking (granted I'm a guy).

Generally I like the neighborhood. There's a lot of traffic, but that's just the nature of living by a busy street like University. There's a lot of space to go for a walk or a run in the nearby neighborhoods, people are very friendly, and the neighborhood is generally clean. It would be nice if there were more restaurants in the area, or a yoga studio.

Atelier is located in a quiet, safe, and accessible neighborhood. Behind the apartment complex there are single-family homes that make for pretty and safe places to walk your dog. It is also within walking distance of a few parks. The apartment is in driving distance of several grocery stores (King Soopers, Safeway, Target, Spruce), as well as several restaurants. Atelier is also about a mile from a light rail stop, and is situated near several bus lines, so walkability and public transportation are relatively accessible. Although the neighborhood is not the busiest, it is not far from downtown (around 15 minutes), the mountains (30 minutes), or the airport (35 minutes).

Behind this apartment complex is the observatory park neighborhood which is very lovely. Very safe neighborhood with new families moving in and usual construction on houses that are being built and renovated. Definitely a more wealthy section of Denver, but it has its pros since there’s realistically little crime and disturbances.
