Terrible management & UNSAFE

1 management rating Reviewed by on

This building is situated in a high-crime area. Large bathtubs with poor doorway designs, not enough hot water to fill the tub halfway. The one bedroom appliances are terrible a refrigerator that is smaller than a $99 one from a home store, doesn't maintain a safe temperature. The freezer is even toner no ice maker. The management is subpar, and there is a significant infestation of roaches. Additionally, numerous items are non-functional and the management refuses to disclose this information. The “security entry system” is malfunctioning. The waste disposal chute lacks proper air management to prevent smoke from a rubbish fire from filling the hallways. Furthermore, the building stores trash indoors, which is a violation of city ordinances. Additionally, gas/propane tanks combustibles and paints are stored together at electrical boxes, another code violation. Management demonstrates a complete lack of professionalism and effective management skills. There is no Post Brothers commitment at this location. It does not belong in the Post Portfolio. Rents are far above a fair rate for this building.

Great Apartment for those coming from out of state!

I moved from Florida tand did a blind buy. I read reviews and saw pictures. This apartment has great space and a high ceiling. Modern and great appliances. The gym is great. Big spacious bathroom. Quite a community of residents. Multi-generations residents and some grad students. ADA-friendly and has a dog park. I love being in West Philly and near campus. Not too far from the airport and transportation is nearby. The parking fee guarantees your space, but there is street parking—Nearby Baltimore Ave which has food places.

The apartment is currently undergoing rennovations but there is not any inconvenience me as a resident. It has an underground parking garage, and gym attached to it. Most units also have in-unit washer and dryers.

Good place to stay

Spacious apartment, well maintained gym and a five minute walk from SP2 main building. Can’t complain, the only issue is that management may be unresponsive at times and you’ll really have to nudge them to respond.

Avoid

1 management rating Reviewed by on

Avoid! Many issues and unresponsive building management. Had to deal with smelling marijuana inside my apartment for over a month, now dealing with a broken AC for over a month getting up to almost 90 in my apartment. The worst part is management isn’t on top of fixing it, I’m constantly having to reach out and complain again, ask what is being done, etc. Finally, there is no building security, people who don’t live in the building are constantly on the roof. Pay way too much to have to deal with all of this.

Renters BEWARE - POORLY MANAGED - Say No to Post Brothers

When I moved in, I was told my apartment was clean, but that was a lie. There were used condoms in different places in the apartment, clothes left behind in the dryer, dirt/dust everywhere, issues with the shower, and the toilet didn’t work/flush properly. Management was contacted but did NOTHING and it took over a week to get someone in to fix the toilet and shower.

Within the first 1-2 weeks of my moving in, there were two mass shootings, both not even one mile away. Management had 0 concern for anyone's safety. If you parked on the street, your car would get broken into. If you paid the extra $175/month for garage parking, you deal with residents not closing the door behind them, therefore anyone can get into the garage, break into a car, and leave (and it happened a few times). This was an ongoing issue, which management was frequently made aware of, and aside from changing the lock mechanism on the door (which didn’t do anything), did nothing.

The walls are paper thin. I had a neighbor that I reported weekly due to domestic violence issues with him and whomever else was in his apartment. Management did NOTHING, but according to the lease agreement, this gentleman should have been kicked out of the complex. My mail/packages were often stolen.

Well-behaved pets were allowed, per the agreement, and not allowed in shared spaces. A friend and I were in the lounge when a male resident entered with a large dog, which attacked us. We took pictures of the damage – bruising, dislocated wrist, open wounds, and management did NOTHING. A guy named Brian tried to sexually assault a girl in the elevator and management did NOTHING.

When I left, I did a deep clean of the space and left nothing behind. Michele S., management promised me in writing that my security deposit would be returned ($2k), in addition to other fees that were owed to me. Michele and I scheduled a day/time for me to pick up a check, but when I arrived, she was on “vacation” and didn’t leave the check for me. When I reached out again, she claimed she would mail it, but that never happened. 1.5 years or so later and I have yet to see any money returned to me.

The property is located in northern liberties which a safe area that is a short drive from campus. There’re cheaper apartments in northern liberties as well as fishtown (an adjacent neighborhood)

Rent is a little high for my tastes and maintenance isn’t always very responsive, though that’s been improving recently. Amenities are good. Subletting is no longer allowed though.

I had a great experience with finding this apartment while out of state. The property managers are extremely helpful with getting you information about the apartment unit you may be interested in. Apartments are very new and well kept. This apartment has a gym and outdoor seating area with grills and fire pits. As a graduate student, I find rent to be reasonable. I take the trolley 34 to campus which takes 15 minutes.

Dollars well spent

Folks have balked at the cost to live here, but I cannot stress enough how much value the rent delivers considering the comprehensive amenities and the apartments' luxurious appointments.
The breathtaking views from the rooftop pool and hot tub are themselves worth a visit. State of the art gym, valet parking, business center, his and hers spa, 24-7 security, music room, dog run, playground, daycare, bike room... you name it. The staff is kind and friendly, knows who you are, and always lends a hand.
The apartments themselves are fantastic. The studio I live in is surprisingly spacious. The apartments are beautiful, well-maintained, and fitted with modern (ebony & bronze) or classic (white & gold) finishes. High ceilings, walk in closets, hardwood floors, up-to-date appliances, and massive windows with lots of light.
The centrality of the location is a massive draw. Kimmel Center across the street, Gayborhood a 5 min walk away, short walks to Rittenhouse and Fashion District, surrounded by excellent restaurants. Whether you take your car or bicycle or public transit, the city is open to you.
I've only given low marks on "Social" because you don't move to the Atlantic to know your neighbors or throw parties. It has a very restrictive guest policy, and I very much prefer that. I wanted somewhere private where I could enjoy my own company, so I count it as a blessing that there aren't rowdy groups in the lounge or the pool area when I want to relax. Which, by the way, happens very frequently at the other large complexes in the Rittenhouse area due to the lax security and the number of students living there.
For the quality of life here, I wouldn't live anywhere else in Philadelphia.

Beautiful spa-like amenities and an Equinox-level gym. Location does usually require Ubers to campus, but there are public transport options.

I think that this property and the newly-opened complex will complete for #1.

PC is pretty and luxurious even. It is expensive but less expensive than those apartments with the same level in University City such as Left Bank, 3737 or Aka. However, if you want to engage more of campus life, I recommend you live closer to University city.
