Nearly Perfect for Solo Living
I honestly did not expect to find an apartment I like quite as much as this one. The size is perfect (not too big or too tiny), I love that it's in an older building, and I can't hear anything my neighbors are doing unless they're going up & down the stairs. I wish it got a little more sunlight and I had more control over the temperature (it's an old building so I have a window AC unit and a radiator) but those are minor inconveniences considering I have a dishwasher (yay!) and the space is so cute. A word of warning–if you're looking for major amenities, you might be disappointed. There's onsite laundry, bike storage, and trash & recycling, but nothing snazzy like a pool. Plus, while it's essentially included in your rent, you pay an $80 utility fee on top of the list price for heating gas, water, and trash. You'll need to pay internet, electricity, and cooking gas yourself.
Review
Experience has been great, but would not be able to afford unit alone.
Loft Review
Its a beautiful refurbished loft in West Loop. The commute to campus is not bad, I take the green/pink line to State/Lake and then either walk (12 min) or take a bus on Michigan Ave and the total commute is ~25 minutes. When the weather is nice, I ride my bike and the commute is ~12 minutes. The commute is worth it if you want to live in a great area of Chicago, rent is expensive so you will have to live with roomates.
Great apartment for pet owners
My boyfriend and I have lived in a 1 bedroom in Reside on Stratford for two years. It is a remodeled building with a fitness room and laundry on the first floor. We overall have been happy with the building but it sometimes can be messy in common areas because a lot of the residents have dogs. We have had some noisy neighbors the past few months but I think we just got unlucky (not a problem specific to this building). I take the 146 bus to northwestern campus and it is very quick/easy.
Great Building & Neighborhood
Reside on Wellington is a great place to live. Beautiful historic building that is well maintained by a great building supervisor and managed by a competent property group. Can't beat the beautiful neighborhood, feet from a brand new Mariano's and steps from the lake and the CTA.
Going on 5 years
I've been in my unit almost 5 years. The location is GREAT - a few steps away from the lake and express buses that take lakeshore to downtown. Management is always quick to respond and attend to maintenance requests. Overall - I've loved living here.
Great Apartment
Love my apartment, wish they had 3 bedrooms with 2 bath, but we make it work with only 1. The staff is very friendly and I love all the people in my building. The elevators can sometimes be slow, but all around great place to live. I love the location and neighborhood.
Comfortable for the busy professional
I had someone tell me that it was like a hotel; in a good way. The engineers are awesome and the management is always willing to help. 24 hour concierge service and pet friendly. Having an in unit washer and dryer is really the best perk though and I love having a balcony.
Reside on Barry
The apartment is beautiful with updated amenities and DW in each. The lobby is very nice and has great outdoor space with nice grills, couches and fire pits. The management is very friendly and accommodating when you can get a hold of them. Sometimes they are slow to answer emails and calls.
Nice for Students
Apartment is nice for Students. It has everything I need. I feel safe in the building and my neighbors are nice as well. Management is slow to respond to requests but they do eventually. Would like them to be a little more responsive but other than that no complaints.
Fantastic Living Experience
I have had a great time living here for the past 3 years - kitchen is amazing and the size for the value is perfect. Amenities in the building are quite nice and management is very responsive to any issues that arise. Neighborhood is quiet and safe, but also close to Wrigley and public transit. Would highly recommend.
Decent 1st Apartment
The building itself is older and it has been renovated. It looks nice but the bones are still old (i.e. pipes, floors, walls, heat system). The floors creak a lot and the walls are thin, you'll have to get used to the noise. It gets so hot (over 80 degrees) in the winter and you have no control over the heat system. I always have a window open to cool off the apartment.
Good Location - Rundown Apartment
Other units in the building were in better condition than ours. Floor was creaky, walls and doors were painted so many times the plaster was flaking off. Office staff was super friendly, but not worth the price. Very little storage and small closets.
Too expensive
It is not worth the cost. The company overall does not value you as a tenant and you are just a dollar sign to them. It is not worth the studio apartments in the Lakeview area. The regional managers are slow at responding as well as they treat us like children. We have so many rules that I can't even count them on my fingers.
Updated Studio
Great, clean, renovated unit with high-end appliance and finishes. Great indoor parking with garage door. Updated hardwood floors and painted accent wall. Tall ceilings and updated trim work.
Building has updated hallways. Keyless entry. Package holding.
