Great low cost option
Great apartment for cheaper than other luxury apartments. If you're looking for a spot that is not filled with other MBAs this is for you.

MUST be seen. Don't stay sight unseen.
COVID made a lot of things difficult but offered numerous places to live when UNC went virtual. I was not able to travel and see the property before moving in. I was shown units via facetime, but I wasn't shown identical units. See the place you'll be staying because you cannot leave a contract easily!
The unit is spacious and has a big main bedroom closet. Having both wood and carpet floors is nice, especially in the winter. Can't say much about the amenities because they have been restricted during COVID. Having to pay for a tv subscription I'm not using isn't ideal either.
The service is nice. The people are attentive and they try to make it work with your schedule. You'll often see events going on around the complex. We've had Food Trucks, Pie Sales, Movie Night giveaways, and Paint and Sip events provided by management and residents.
In summary, it's a nice place. You can meet an array of individuals here, but not a lot of any particular school (i.e., undergrad, medical, mba, etc.). If you want to be closer to Durham and have your own space, I would say this is the place for you.

Great Place
Nice place and the apartment holds events and contests. It has a dog park and is very pet-friendly. Additionally, it is close to a small trail, and Trader Joe's. The price is fair for the 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment. One con is that there isn't much storage.

Good apartment, bad management
I like the apartment complex, in particular the spacious floor plans, the very responsive maintenance team, and the location. I have had a lot of trouble with the management team, however. I had a MASSIVE issue in my apartment with mildew and mold all over my personal items because of an issue in the building, and the management team was horrible. They gave me 1 month rent concession and a new apartment - the value of which came out to be ~1/4 of what I invested in cleaning and moving to the new apartment. I received no support in the move and no check-ins from management during the move process. It's a great complex, unless there is a big issue, and then it's horrible.

Quiet
Quiet with no major issues. Maintenance has been very responsive. Overall apartment quality is certainly new but "cheap" feel.

Great Location, Spacious Floorplan
Midtown 501 is a great location - about 15 minutes from campus and right next to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. The floor plans are the largest that I found in the area for a very reasonable price. There are not many UNC KF business students that live there (only 2-3 of us currently), but it's nice sometimes to get out of the business school bubble. Also, it was very important to me that my apartment complex was smoke-free, and Midtown 501 has a smoke-free campus which is great.

Quiet with great amenities
Midtown 501 has everything my wife and I were looking for in an apartment. The complex has great amenities, responsive management, and is convenient to grocery stores and walking trails. The location is convenient to both school and my wife’s job.

Really enjoyed living here
Nice people, really great management group. The apts are all pretty new and in good condition. Love the social atmosphere and they encourage you to meet new people.Great clubhouse and nice pool. Overall a really nice place to live and I really recommend it. The buses pick up from outside the apt, they run every 20minutes in the morning and around 5pm, maybe every 45 minutes during the day. Its a good place to live.
