Nice, but noisy.

This is a decent, fairly new building, in a nice neighborhood. The units are fairly cookie cutter apartments that you'll find in pretty much any apartment building constructed in the last 10-15 years in any American city. Rents are priced fairly competitive for the area and the number of amenities. The only major drawback I have noticed are noise issues. This property is extremely pet friendly, so expect to be woken up by barking dogs early every morning.

Overall, I'd probably give this building a 6 or 7 out of 10, but the management company offers residents rent credit in exchange for reviews, so I feel the need to go lower to offset the inflated, paid for scores of others.

Bakery Living Blue Studio

I have enjoyed living here for the past three years. The staff are friendly and exceptionally helpful. Maintenance requests (even minor/non-urgent) are usually handled within a few hours. Of all the apartments I've lived in, my unit here is the closest to soundproof--I rarely hear my neighbors. I do think it's a bit overpriced, even compared to similar Walnut Capital properties.

Loving my 1 year at bakery and renewing for next year

I lived in bakery living blue for almost a year now. Recently renewed my lease for another year. Highlighting best parts of my stay
- Perfect location, very walkable, 5min to to trader joe and 15 to wholefoods/target. 5min to Melon park. Can access most places I need to go by foot or bus.
- great amenities. The gym has a lot of machines that definitely helped me keep fit easily without a trainer. The lounge is beautiful. My friend said the ping pong table was one of the best in the area lol.
- loved the barbecue too. A lot of good memories of friend and family visits.
- the room has wood floor which isn't common in PIT but I love it. Feels much cleaner than carpet.
- maintenance request is usually dealt within 24hrs (even things like changing a fridge)
Overall highly recommended

Great for young professionals and students

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Bakery Living as a graduate student. It is safe and clean, and management is responsive and kind. Maintenance is also very responsive and prompt to fix any issues. The location is optimal for students and young professionals and is accessible by multiple bus lines. I felt very safe and welcome living in this apartment. The gym is also great!

Wonderful experience

I lived here for all of medical residency and a year as an attending (4 years total). The gyms are fantastic, the staff are friendly and responsive, maintenance is timely. There are so many small amenities and perks that make life convenient - gyms are spacious and have good equipment, the 28X airport shuttle is a short walk away that takes you all the way to the airport, there is a dry-cleaning delivery service, the apartment caters Panera bagels each Saturday. The complex is just on the west side of the beautiful Shadyside neighborhood as well as Point Breeze - very walkable adjacent areas. I have a nice view from my balcony.

The only downside of living here is that there are small children who live above me who wake me up 80% of days for the last 4 years. I put noise-cancelling headphones in I do wake up in the early morning and don't have issues at this point.

Lovely renting experience

The only downside was that the tenants above me have small children who are loud - I would put noise-cancelling headphones if I woke up between 4-5am.

Excellent location, great property w many amenities, helpful office staff, and fantastic support staff. As for apartment space itself, has modern loft-like feel with high ceilings, good appliances with major perk being in unit laundry

Really Safe & Great Amenities!

I've been living here for almost three years now, and it has yet to disappoint! Maintenance work happens very quickly (often same day or next day), the staff is extremely friendly, and the events are great. There are two gyms, both with unique vibes and good for different types of workouts. The pool is also very nice, and can be used even in the winter. The residents are also super friendly!

The building itself feels very safe and is in a great area. Accessing the apartment units requires use of a fob multiple times.

Additionally, it's in a really fun area with Bakery Square right across the street! It's perfect for shopping, eating, or fun events. It's also within walking distance of Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. It's very close (again, walking distance) to bus stops as well.

Getting around Shadyside

Shadyside Reviews

As someone who does not own a car, accessibility was extremely important to me. I'm within a 7 minute walk of three bus lines that will get me to school in 20 minutes less, and just as close to bus lines that take me to CHP and St. Margaret's. I'm walking distance to several grocery stores and restaurants and just down the street from Walnut Street, which has coffee shops and some shopping.
Building borders on North Oakland and Shadyside. Nice neighborhoods just behind the building that have made for good running streets. Next to bus stops. Grocery store is not very walkable, but on a bus line and a short drive away by car.
I love Shadyside! The buses run quite often making it accessible to get anywhere I need to go, and there are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores close.
Very nice neighborhood, close to restaurants, bars, shopping, groceries, and bus stops that take you anywhere in the city. Slightly pricey
Very safe and quiet! Access to all the major bus lines: 75, 71A, 71B, 71C, 71D which all come fairly frequently!
very safe and fun neighborhood to live in! Also very convenient and easy access to campus when needed.
Within walking distance to bars, restaurants, grocery stores, many public buses, and nice parks!
Excellent neighborhood. A lot of residential areas but also several restaurants and bars
