great apartment

The apartment staff are awesome!
When my room needs anything to be repaired, they respond quickly.
I also like the apartment's coffee machine that I can drink anytime.

Love it so much, we’re back!

We lived in Bakery Living for a couple years in a 1 bedroom. We loved it so much that when we had our first kid we expanded into a 2 bedroom 1 bath. During Covid we decided to buy a house but after 3 years as homeowners, we decided to move back to a 2 bed 2 bath with den in bakery living because of the ease of living the property provides! The building is well taken care of and decorated, they host many monthly events for socializing, the staff is extremely helpful and kind, my kids love the pool and play room, my husband enjoys the “co-working” space and coffee in the lobby. If you’re looking for a maintenance free, up beat place to live, this is your spot! We’re also grateful for the two gyms with peloton equipment and EV charging stations.

Best luxury living in Pittsburgh!

I've been renting here for the past 6 years, and I've never wanted to move anywhere else. The location is super convenient - there's a lovely park and coffee shops/restaurants right across the street, and Trader Joe's and Target are just a block down the road. The management staff are super reliable and friendly - they respond to emails and maintenance requests within 24 hours, are always there to answer your questions in person during working hours, and accept packages for you so they never get lost or stolen. They work hard to keep the community space clean every day and well-decorated for every season, and they host community events multiple times a month for residents to enjoy free food, drink, and entertainment together. 24/7 security makes me feel safe living here, even as a single female. Best value and luxury living experience in Pittsburgh!

Great location and plenty of ammenities, but lots of noise and high cost.

This building has a lot going for it - it's new in a market that skews older; has tons of amenities, including a 24 hour gym in both buildings; laundry in every unit; very responsive maintenance; and a great location in a quiet neighborhood. After living here for a couple of years, there have been a handful drawbacks I've noticed, too. The biggest among these is noise insulation. Sound from adjacent units isn't terrible, but expect to hear your upstairs neighbors' every footstep. And given how pet friendly the property is, barking dogs are sometimes an issue. Apartments positioned near the building's many common/social areas are also subject to tremendous noise, especially if another resident decides to use them for a large party. Second, the layout of the building clearly wasn't very well thought out. Some units have balconies positioned directly in front of the windows of another unit, and lots of apartments have very limited views (or worse, sight lines directly into other units or the commercial office buildings directly across the street).

Overall, this has by no means been a bad place to live, but I wish I would have been made aware of more of the nuances of my specific unit before moving in. Potential residents should make sure they tour the specific unit they are interested in to get a good idea of the surroundings. Personally, I would opt for a unit on the outside of the building (facing away from the courtyard) on an upper floor, to best mitigate the noise issue.

Lastly, the cost of living in this building is not particularly excessive for the neighborhood, but there can be a little bit of a tradeoff between square footage vs amenities. And in addition to base rent, residents are responsible for all of the following:

- Electric (including heat)
- Water and sewer (automatically added into the rent payment each month and subject to a mandatory $4.45 processing fee)
- Internet
- Parking ($120/month)
- Pet rent (I believe $30-$50 each month)

Luxury apartment, perfect for professionals

My partner and I have been living here for six months. We toured quite a few luxury apartments, but decided to move here mostly because we felt the environment, facilities, and floor plans are the most ideal. Some highlights:
1. The floor plans have reasonable size, shape, layout, and window facing direction.
2. The open area is well-equipped. We love the gym, the bike room, the coffee machine, the free Saturday bagel, and the little backyard the most. Also looking forward to try BBQ!
3. The social opportunities are rich. The apt hosts 2-3 social events every month. My partner and I are more on the introvert side so we haven't been to much of it, but at the same time we never had any complaints about noise, so good balance!
4. The maintenance team is responsible both for in-apt requests (light bulbs) and open areas (coffee machines get fixed quite quickly!)
5. We haven't had any security related issues.

Price is definitely on the higher end of the market (was probably the second most expensive place we toured), but we think it's worth it.

Affordable, Secure, and Comfortable!

I have found a truly wonderful home in this community that seamlessly combines affordability, security, and comfort. The quality and atmosphere here are exceptional, creating an environment that feels both welcoming and cozy. The ideal location adds to the charm, making it convenient for daily life.

The staff deserves special mention for their warmth and helpfulness. They go above and beyond to create a friendly and supportive community atmosphere. The management staff, in particular, stands out for their efficiency in addressing any issues promptly. I have never had such a flawless and seamless experience in any other apartment community before. The pricing is not only reasonable but also comes without any hidden fees, providing a transparent and stress-free living experience.

Safety is a top priority in this community, and it's evident in the well-maintained and secure building. The peace of mind I have here is invaluable. Plus, the fact that it's dog-friendly adds an extra layer of joy to my living experience. I can confidently say that I've found a home where I can envision a long and happy stay!

As someone who does not own a car, accessibility was extremely important to me. I'm within a 7 minute walk of three bus lines that will get me to school in 20 minutes less, and just as close to bus lines that take me to CHP and St. Margaret's. I'm walking distance to several grocery stores and restaurants and just down the street from Walnut Street, which has coffee shops and some shopping.
Building borders on North Oakland and Shadyside. Nice neighborhoods just behind the building that have made for good running streets. Next to bus stops. Grocery store is not very walkable, but on a bus line and a short drive away by car.
I love Shadyside! The buses run quite often making it accessible to get anywhere I need to go, and there are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores close.
Very nice neighborhood, close to restaurants, bars, shopping, groceries, and bus stops that take you anywhere in the city. Slightly pricey
Very safe and quiet! Access to all the major bus lines: 75, 71A, 71B, 71C, 71D which all come fairly frequently!
very safe and fun neighborhood to live in! Also very convenient and easy access to campus when needed.
Within walking distance to bars, restaurants, grocery stores, many public buses, and nice parks!
Excellent neighborhood. A lot of residential areas but also several restaurants and bars
