Merrifield Apartments is not a bad community overall. The common landscaping is kept neat and trim, and maintenance requests are responded to in a reasonable timeframe. But there are a lot of roaches, which would be irritating to anyone. There is a Neighborhood Watch program in place. The staff will occasionally hand out breakfast treats to the tenants or host get-togethers for the tenants. My only real complaint is the thin walls of the apartments, which lets you hear what your neighbors are doing - including what you really don't want to know about! Overall, though, I would recommend them.

I lived here after college with some friends; perfectly decent apartments, very convenient to groceries and 66 and 495; pretty long commute and not really walkable to metro, but close. It's been a great tenure so far, I'm happy to call this place home. It's very close to the Mosaic shopping district, there's a Dunkin Donuts on the premises, and Harris Teeter will be walking distance in the near future. I have a one bedroom unit, which is worth the money

There are many good things about living in this apartment complex. The tennis court is well maintained and a lot of fun. The pool is awesome (nice temperature and well maintained).

I personally really love the staff..They are friendly and helpful and I really have not had any poor experiences with them. When you have a maintenance issue they come either the same day or the next day. The provide prompt and direct service and are friendly. It does take sometimes up to 3 visits to fix the problem but I feel like the maintenance staff does there best.

They are also great about parking. Instead of the typical 2 parking spaces, my roommates and I were able to get 3 spaces. The gym is also great...the complex has renovated it and it now has tv's and an extra elliptical machine which I really like. Neighbors aren't loud and everyone is mostly quite courteous.

I have lived here for about 4 months now and compared to the area this apartment features a prime location walkable to the metro and the floor plans are quite large for the price. However, I have run into a bit of a bug issue but was offered free extermination. Sound levels are great for an apartment building and I hardly hear my neighbors and when I do it is usually only in the bathroom. Some things I really wish this apartment had was consistent package delivery options, laundry in unit is an amenity I take for granted. The leasing office has some very nice staff
