Good price, good location, spacious apartments for GUSOM med students!

We love our apartment at the Palisades. It is a spacious two bedroom apartment with an updated kitchen. There is lots of storage (two storage closets and large closets in each bedroom). We appreciate the included utilities, as it makes rent payments easier. Internet is not included, but runs about $50-60 per month for two people. There is available parking onsite for about $125/month if needed. There is NO elevator, so keep this in mind if needed for accessibility or convenience purposes. Pets are also not allowed. Management is rather responsive and takes care of any maintenance requests promptly. The location is in a nice, quiet neighborhood with many families. Our only complaints are the sometimes erratic heating (due to central control), and the somewhat pricey air conditioning charge from June-September (about $180 per month additional).

Decent deal for Studio in a great location

I've really enjoyed living in my Studio in the Palisades. The location is great - it's within walking distance of 14th Street, U Street, Dupont Circle, and Chinatown (in increasing order), all of the metro lines (in order Blue/Silver/Orange, Red, Yellow/Green), as well as Whole Foods, Safeway, and Trader Joes. My unit, although small, has a layout that helps it feel bigger because there's an alcove for my bed. I have a very large window that lets in a ton of light. Compared to other studios in the area, the Palisades units have newer flooring and appliances. Because the building is small, the management is pretty accessible and responsive. There are washers and dryers on almost every other floor, and you put money on a laundry card to pay for each wash. There is only 1 elevator which can be a hassle, so I often take the stairs. There isn't a gym in the building but tenants are given access to the gym in another nearby Bernstein Management building.

Logan Circle Reviews

Logan Circle is the perfect location! It's close to 14th St and P St and the up and coming Shaw neighborhood so you have tons of restaurants, gyms and shops in walking distance. You're also walking distance to U st, Dupont, downtown (Farragut), Metro Center and Chinatown so you are ideally located - can get to any metro line in 10-20 minutes walking.
I think this is the best location if you want to be in DC and work in McLean. Unfortunately, having to be close to the Silver line somewhat limits where you can live in DC (unless you want to transfer metro lines). While my commute could still take up to an hour, I think it is worth it because Logan Circle has so many great restaurants and bars. Also, I can very easily walk to a ton of other neighborhoods (Dupont, Shaw, etc.)
This part of town has gentrified drastically in a short amount of time. That comes with the good and the bad. There are so many developments going up that it has misplaced the communities that once lived here. However, there are still hip old tropes of those communities up and down U St and 14th St. Ethiopian dive restaurants, to great music clubs, and a safe, lively gay scene, this is a booming part of town.
Walking distance to several metro lines and going-out areas.
Logan Circle is my favorite neighborhood in DC for living and leisure. I have every type of grocery store within a 5 minute walk from my apartment, multiple gyms, and most of my favorite bars and restaurants.
Its is a fairly nice neighborhood with a lot of families. It is quiet and doesn't have almost any criminal activity. It is a great place to start a family
All you need is close by or within walking distance or a quick Uber. Good variety of restaurants and bars. Parks nearby and safe location.
Lots of restaurants, grocery stores, bars, and fun things to do. Not the cheapest place to live but a great spot to be in.
