Studio at the Phoenix

I have enjoyed living in this building for the most part! The location is PERFECT - it is only a mile away from GWU or two stops on the Metro. It's less than a 10 minute walk to the Metro station and there are lots of restaurants, bars, and grocery stores nearby. The area feels pretty safe but I am not very impressed with the building security. I've had a few issues with management and staff at the building, and they don't enforce security so there are often random people coming who clearly don't live there, but the front desk staff don't say anything. However, my unit is updated and seemed almost brand new when I moved in. The kitchen is really nice and the closet is huge. Each unit has its own AC unit that you can control, but the building controls the heating. There is a laundry room in the building, but no gym. Overall been a decent experience!

Great Property

Great property with renovated apartments. The staff are incredible and very helpful. A front desk person is there from 8am to midnight. Love the location in Logan.

Great Location!

I love living in Logan Circle. The apartment is about a 20-25min walk to campus. All the people that work at The Phoenix are helpful and care about your well being. The closet space for a studio is pretty great!

Bed bugs

They promised they didn't have a bed bug problem but within 1 month I had them all over. Since I bought everything brand new from Amazon (furniture and mattresses) and didn't have bed bugs before I started law school, I feel like it's safe to say they still have a bed bug problem. The issue is that the management didn't believe me at first until I had to send them a picture of a bed bug I captured (gross) and then they only gave me $20 to help with the laundry costs of cleaning ALL of my clothes (which didn't cover anything because of dry cleaning costs of things I can't wash in a machine). They didn't cut me a break on rent or anything. Just bad management.

Logan Circle Reviews

Logan Circle is the perfect location! It's close to 14th St and P St and the up and coming Shaw neighborhood so you have tons of restaurants, gyms and shops in walking distance. You're also walking distance to U st, Dupont, downtown (Farragut), Metro Center and Chinatown so you are ideally located - can get to any metro line in 10-20 minutes walking.
I think this is the best location if you want to be in DC and work in McLean. Unfortunately, having to be close to the Silver line somewhat limits where you can live in DC (unless you want to transfer metro lines). While my commute could still take up to an hour, I think it is worth it because Logan Circle has so many great restaurants and bars. Also, I can very easily walk to a ton of other neighborhoods (Dupont, Shaw, etc.)
This part of town has gentrified drastically in a short amount of time. That comes with the good and the bad. There are so many developments going up that it has misplaced the communities that once lived here. However, there are still hip old tropes of those communities up and down U St and 14th St. Ethiopian dive restaurants, to great music clubs, and a safe, lively gay scene, this is a booming part of town.
Walking distance to several metro lines and going-out areas.
Logan Circle is my favorite neighborhood in DC for living and leisure. I have every type of grocery store within a 5 minute walk from my apartment, multiple gyms, and most of my favorite bars and restaurants.
Its is a fairly nice neighborhood with a lot of families. It is quiet and doesn't have almost any criminal activity. It is a great place to start a family
All you need is close by or within walking distance or a quick Uber. Good variety of restaurants and bars. Parks nearby and safe location.
Lots of restaurants, grocery stores, bars, and fun things to do. Not the cheapest place to live but a great spot to be in.
