Great complex if you want to live outside of downtown
I have lived in two complexes in AA and Valley Ranch is definitely the better of the two. It's not close to campus but if you're older or have a family and do not want to live near the undergrads, this is a perfect space. It's very quiet and closer to Meijer and Target. Management has been great and maintenance issues have always been addressed quickly. You get one covered parking spot and unlimited uncovered parking spots. They allow up to two pets and have never given us an issue about having an small exotic animal as a third pet. Highly recommend.

Great Place, Out of campus.
Valley Ranch is a great place to live if you are a med student that prefers to live out of campus and be in a more suburban area of Ann Arbor. It had spacious apartments; great amenities and the staff is so friendly. With that said this type of living arrangement may not be for everybody. The biggest downside if that you need to have to get a car if you want to get to Tauman. If not, there is a bus route, but it will take you a lot of time to get there. I decided to live here because I live with my partner who is working full time at home and wanted to have a place that was quiet and accessible to all the shops and groceries stores in Ann Arbor. In regard to the maintenance people, they do their job, but it takes like calling 2 to 3 times to get it done which is a bit annoying. Also, in the summer lots of spiders, but is manageable if you buy some pest spray.
