Nice apartment!

We love living here and being in Short Pump. Our only complaint really is having a fair amount of bugs in both units we've lived in on the property (which could be from living on the first floor). Leasing office is very friendly, it's a gated community needing keycard access, there's abundant parking, a nice gym and pool, a clean community, and right across from Short Pump Town Center.

Great place and apartments, annoying leasing office

The apartments are all recently remodeled and it is done well. Some have a designated office space which is helpful and the entire set up feels pretty spacious. The leasing office is annoying and hard to work with, but that seems pretty normal.

Short Pump Apartment

This is a great place to rent if you have pets. There is no monthly pet rent and you can have up to 3 pets. Some of the finishes could use a little updating, but overall it's a nice apartment. It also has a separate laundry room with a full size washer and dryer, a balcony and a dishwasher. There is also plenty of storage with both rooms having a spacious walk in closet. It's also a gate community.

Nice place to live, but far from the excitement of downtown

It's great, but on the weekends you will wish you lived in "The Fan"

Great Access to Short Pump and West Creek, Ok Apartment Complex

The location of The Madison apartments is really good if you don't mind living in the suburbs (or in other words, not living in the fan or downtown). The commute to work at West Creek is about 15 minutes with traffic. You are literally across the street from the Short Pump mall and within walking distance to a strip mall that has all your basic needs and wants. Parking is free and you can have as many cars as you want I believe, although renting a garage will cost you upwards of $100 per month. The apartments are fairly spacious and well laid out and include a washer and a dryer. The walls are thin so if your neighbor has a nice subwoofer or a baby you're gonna hear it. Management and maintenance requests are handled quickly, usually within a day or two. The complex is gated which is nice in theory but more often than not it's just a nuisance. Two tennis courts, volleyball courts and pools (although the pools are nasty and so is one of the volleyball courts). There are grills at the pools but you can't have an open flame even if you have a porch so you can't use your own grill. As far as as social life goes there is a near infinite supply of restaurants nearby but if you want a night life you should probably look elsewhere.

Great location. Spacious layout.

The apartment is situated next to the Short Pump Mall. As a result, it is easy to travel to work, nearby stores, points of interest, and I-64. The apartment is spacious and there is even enough space to workout (although the complex has a gym). The management quickly addresses work requests and has a thrice-weekly garbage pickup service.

I am very satisfied with my experience.

I made several trips to Richmond to visit potential places to live and this was my favorite. I was looking for a place that is quiet, safe, and with a reasonable drive to class each day. It takes me 12-15 minutes to go from my front door to parking on campus, and my route is never backed up with the traffic that people in other parts of Richmond complain about!

My favorite thing about my quality of life here is that I live a 1-2 minute drive from Target, Kroger, Food Lion, Panera, Starbucks, CVS, Aldi, Wawa and more! It's so close that you can walk if you want to - I've done it on occasion. If you are looking for close proximity to restaurants and nightlife, this area in general is probably not what you're looking for. But if you want a quiet and safe neighborhood with easy access to convenient shopping, definitely consider this neighborhood!
Across from a business district. Grocery and shopping aren't too far away, but the location itself doesn't provide an authentic experience of Richmond. It is much more quiet than if you were to live in the Fan, but also lacks the experiences that come with that.
Not really a lot to do around my neighborhood, but it is close to school and a grocery store. Short pump is about 15 minutes away and downtown is about 20 so it is not too bad if you do want to do something.
Lots of grocery stores and chain restaurants in the area. Very safe. It may not be as exciting as the downtown area, but it is only a 10-minute drive away with the highways, and I would trade the excitement of downtown for the quietness of my current area. Not a lot of sidewalks if you want to go for a long walk or run though
It's quiet, cute, and generally safe. Commute is easy. A little far away from everything, but as long as the pandemic is going on I'm not sure exactly how much we're missing.

Drawback: you MUST drive anywhere you want to go. Nothing is walking distance, unless you want to walk along a major road (you don't).
Decent place. Lot of “lower income” people but some long term residents as well. Most people are cordial but not looking for friends.
I like how I am only a few minutes away from anything I need. I am very close to shopping areas on W Broad. It is also a short drive downtown. I feel like I can get anywhere in Richmond in 20 minutes.
I personally love living in this area. It’s safe and quiet, but still super close to both school and the city! There’s a lot of grocery options close by, as well as nearby parks.
