Great apartment!

Foundry is a solid apartment. The staff is extremely friendly, the amenities are nice, and each bedroom has its own private bathroom.

Foundry Lofts Experience

The location and physical building amenities are nice, however there is room for improvement related to overall building management. Unfortunately, we were placed in a unit that has exposed piping that carries the building's grey water through our bedroom which has created noise issues. While management did take steps to address, the noise has yet to be remedied after 6 months. There were also inconveniences incurred during move-in due to lack of formalized processes across the different office staff that were facilitating our move.

Modern apartment, great location

Great, new apartment. Very clean and comes furnished. Great location -
very close to Skeeps and I enjoy being near Kerrytown and State Street area. Many events are held in the common spaces at Foundry, so it is easy to host (and attend)!

New building, nice apartments

Filled with lots of undergrad but apartments are essentially new and well-maintained.

Foundry Lofts

The building has some nice features (study rooms, pool table, gym) but the apartments are overpriced relative to the size of the room and common areas.

Too Expensive for the infrastructure provided

The whole complex is completely new and this is great, but some things are not so great. Some examples:
The equipments of the fitness center are very low quality, there is only one temperature control for and apartment in which you live with 1 or more roomates you do not know very well, the matching engine to put people in a given apartment seems to ignore about everything you put on the survey they send you.
Nevertheless, the rooms and bathrooms are spacious and the appliances inside each apartment are super new and high quality.

The apartment is a brand new (less than one year old) building. As a with any new building it has it challenges.

Pretty good, but not great

Basically on off-campus luxurious dorm. Some residents are loud and obnoxious. Foundry staff is not always responsive to issues. Puke was in the elevator for 6 - 8 hours before it was cleaned. Should have added more elevators. Kitchen is not good, and furniture is cheap. Gym, study hall, and common space are nice. FedEx or UPS does not allow building to sign off packages. Nice to be near downtown and kerrytown.

About Old Fourth Ward

Old Fourth Ward was one of the first residential areas in Ann Arbor. While keeping its old-town feel, the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood is now also a modern spot that many students call home. For bars, there is the Italian styled Mani Osteria and Bar. Another place to visit is Bar Louie, an upbeat b...

Half a mile from the law school, right next to Kerry Town (farmers market, great grocery store and shops), quiet side of town (not near all of the undergrad bars) good walking distance from both Main Street down town and state street activities
Absolutely love Kerrytown!! Still close to the hospital but you get the added benefit over White Coat of being close to cute kerrytown shops and farmer's market as well as having a shorter walk to general downtown Ann Arbor. I definitely will be staying in Kerrytown all 4 years of medical school!
Close to school, hospital, and downtown. Very safe
I love this area. It's also called Kerrytown - Old 4th Ward is just more specific to my block I guess? It's a quiet residential area. I live right across from city hall and down the street from the fire department so I feel very safe. I've never heard a party! It's just a short walk from the Kerrytown market and some great restaurants by it. Also a quick walk from downtown where all the good nightlife is in my opinion as well as state street where there is a CVS and Walgreens. I'm also 2 blocks from a 7-11.
It is less than 10min walk from Ross campus and less than 5min walk from everything else. Walking distance to the central bus station (Blake Bus Interchange) and downtown area. You can take a bus from the bus stop outside the lobby to go to Meijer or Target.
It's Liberty, for what it's worth. Necto and Skeeps can be pretty loud on weekends, so sometimes need an earplug to sleep. Sunlight is bad. Easy to get to bars/restaurants and to the school.
Farmer's market, small cafes, everything you want and close to the main downtown too. Not too loud but still a lot going on (more graduate students than undergrads)
Everything is close, including convenience stores, restaurants, skeeps, bars, and everything for social lives. The only thing is that gyms are not close, though.
