Great location and place to live!

Lived here all 4 years and was in close proximity to hospital with some distance to not hear the ambulances right downstairs. It's north of the hospital so not as noisy as the places more south. Doesn't have as many amenities as some of the buildings, but has a small gym and amazing views of Navy Pier, etc on the deck with a large study lounge area.

Awesome building

Super nice 24-7 doormen. Very safe mail room. Large, beautiful top floor study/party/hangout room with giant TV to rent for free and amazing views of city/lake/Navy Pier. Top floor deck with chairs to lay out, tables to eat, grills to rent for free; amazing views. Small but decent workout room with 1 elliptical, 1 step machine, 1 bike, 2 treadmills, free weights, and pull-up bar station. Most units have in-unit W/D but there are machines on top floor if not. Elevators break down frequently but there is always at least 1 out of 3 running. Older building so either the heat is turned on or the AC but never have access to both.

Affordable and great location

Affordable rent with decent amenities in a great location. Easy access to Northwestern's campus, the lake, the MCA, Lakeshore Park, and public transit. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Gym is very small but the rooftop is beautiful!

Older building in a great location.

This location close to Feinberg and NMH is pretty fantastic. The segment of Streeterville north of Chicago Ave is very peaceful and quiet at night and feels safe.
My apartment is a corner unit with tons of natural light, a balcony that’s wonderful to enjoy in the summer, and in-unit laundry which is amazing.
The building is older, and there are frequent maintenance issues with the elevators and the AC risers. The building management is quick to implement repairs but there are just a fair amount of breakdowns.

3 years

I've been in my apartment for three years with some major issues (water coming through ceiling, flooded washing machines, etc); however, the responsiveness of management, the location, and the amenities more than make up for that. Furthermore, all damage was made right with minimal headaches.

The building is old and has some elevator/heating/AC/plumbing issues. Door staff are very friendly and helpful! On the top floor there are storage units, a small gym, a laundry room, and an indoor/outdoor roof with tables, a kitchen area, and grills. Most units do have in-unit laundry (I think). Parking spaces are variably available. It takes 5 minutes to walk to most classes from here.

Streeterville Reviews

Perfect location for Feinberg, almost feels like a small slice of a college town because so many of your neighbors will be students, residents, nurses, etc at the hospital. You do get sirens fairly often depending on where you live since the emergency room is very close. The neighborhood doesn't have too many restaurants/bars but it is walking distance to River North and Gold Coast and the rest of the city is easily accessed by public transport. Much safer than most neighborhoods in Chicago.
Streeterville is a very nice neighborhood. There are plenty of parks and grocery stores. There is some late night crime due to the location downtown and close to the beach, but overall nothing worse than anywhere else.

There are some more expensive restaurants and fast food places. Navy Pier attracts a lot of tourists and they can be annoying to navigate around.
I enjoy living in Streeterville since it's near many of Chicago attractions without feeling overwhelming like in the Loop. I am able to walk around safely at night and I like going jogging in Millennium Park. My biggest complaint would be the lack of greenery in the area and how the city can feel a little bit insulating at times. Public transportation is great. This area is pricey, which is why I decided to have a roommate.
The Streeterville area was still pretty sleepy when I moved here three years ago. Since then, there has been an incredible amount of development. New luxury apartments and condos are going up, several new restaurants, a brand new target and Whole Foods. Its become a great place for professionals who enjoy living downtown, but without the club crowds in River North.
There are a few buses that are near by that help get residents down to the loop. Also it's pretty easy to walk around and the cross walks are pedestrian friendly. I'm always able to get around by foot and buses/trains. Streeterville is a very safe neighborhood and I've never felt unsafe walking around at night. The streets are well lit.
Noise is not usually too big of an issue in this neighborhood; it's pretty quiet at night.
There are multiple grocery stores nearby for multiple choices. Also there are a bunch of great places to eat so one will not get bored with options.
While on the expensive end in Chicago, streeterville is safe, has all the necessities (look for apts near grocery stores if you don't have a car!!), is super close to school (and most feinberg students so convenient for socializing), and is super close proximity to restaurants and bars.
This building is located in the center of everything you could possibly need. Whole foods and Jewel within walking distance, easy to get to the lake front, and plenty of good restaurants and bars. The only down side is that it does not really have a "neighborhoody" feel.
Love how close we are to the medical school, makes going to class really easy. A lot of students live in Streeterville so it is very easy to hangout with friends. There are also a few coffee shops in the neighborhood that are very fun to study at!
