Good solid place to live

I just want to say that the customer service from Tyrese at Brookfield Properties is truly outstanding. He's always so courteous and ready to assist. Tyrese helped me out with all my questions about moving to another property within Brookfield and even gave me his direct email for any further questions or concerns. Thank you, Tyrese! Because of people like you, I feel confident that Brookfield Properties will remain my home until I decide to buy a place of my own. I highly recommend Tyrese and all the staff at BP for their exceptional assistance and support!

Sincerely,
Alessa

bang for your buck - lived here 1L year

Pros: pretty good amenities and the location is great (5 min or less uber to restaurants/bars; Royal Blue, Wild Salsa, and Irish pub beneath building); also great views - I was in apartment 2303 and had a clear view of Reunion Tower, BOA building, ATT, Pegasus, and surrounding buildings. Shared patio has impressive view of surrounding buildings - great for entertaining.

Cons: Management can often seem bad, but they respond better if you are assertive or firm with your requests; need to plan travel to/from school around rush hour if you don't want to waste time in traffic; one or more of the three elevators are frequently out of service.

Recommend leasing on a higher floor; louder tenants tend to rent on the lower floors and couples and young professionals tend to live in apartments on the upper floors. Also, the lower floors really hear the traffic.

This was a great place to live during summer clerkships - close to federal/state courthouse and most law firms.

Downtown Dallas Reviews

I love living in downtown. Not only does it feel like a real city, but there is significantly more diversity than other neighborhoods close to SMU such as the Park Cities and Uptown. It's very walkable and the DART station is only a 5 minute walk away. There are also plenty of restaurants and coffeeshops within close walking distance and plenty of green space for dogs as well.
So far I like living in Downtown. There isn't a TON of things to do but there are bars and restaurants and it's not far from Deep Ellum and Uptown where there are a lot of options. Both DART and bus stations are nearby, and direct access to almost any interstate since they all cross downtown, which is convenient.

I have always slept with earplugs but I don't find Downtown Dallas to be particularly noisy at night. There are a lot of sirens from fire/ambulance but there is not a lot of noise from people being rowdy at night. There is obviously more on the weekends but still not enough to really be a bother. If you move to a downtown area, more noise than in a suburban neighborhood is to be expected.

Disappointing things about downtown: there is no grocery store! There is a CVS and several 7/11s but no grocery store in walking distance.
Close to downtown, deep ellum, and farmers market. Area is up and coming meaning there are still a lot of homeless people who roam but in general I feel fine with it. It's nice to not be in a cookie cutter part of Dallas like Uptown.
-within 5 minute uber of Deep Ellum/Uptown nightlife and restaurants; ~10 minutes to Lowest Greenville.

-walking outside is fine during the day, but I would buddy-system at night if you are a girl.
Living in the Arts District is awesome. lots of car break ins and a few homeless people that are always loitering around.
living 3 blocks from deep ellum can be challenging in the weekends where street parking is non existent
I love living in Downtown, but it's probably not for everyone.
It's downtown so of course there's a things to be on the lookout for, however, majority of the crime is committed on the weekend by people who don't even live there.
The Deep Ellum community is friendly and you will always see people jogging or walking their dogs in the area.
