Close by
Very close to campus, easy to take the Vanderbilt bus from the employee parking lot or walk in (15 minutes, ~0.6 miles). 5 min walk away from Centennial Park.

Good vibes
Very good.
Apartment is spacious and has a nice view.
The maintenance people and landlord are very friendly and responsive to my needs.
About as close as you can get to campus, which is great as well.

The VUSM Standard
No complaints living at Bristol. Can't beat the short walking commute or shuttle from the parking lot. But the best part of living at Bristol is the social scene - there will always be a few VUSM classmates you can hang out with.

Location
Great space for the price and location is unmatched across the street from the shuttle lot and 15 min walk to door of the library

8 star building, 0 star management
The apartment itself is pretty nice, but management is the absolute worst I've ever dealt with in my time as a renter (8 years). The CEO of the management company employs a family member to run the building and is not responsive to complaints at all. She had me towed for parking 1 space over in an empty parking garage, regularly stalks the building cameras to hand out pet fines, trash/recycling fines, balcony fines (if items are not on the 'approved list') etc. ($250 each). She is also very rude.
It's not as modern as some of the newer buildings, but I've felt incredibly safe here while traveling to and from the hospital at weird hours. Right next to a Vandy shuttle that will take you to the main hospital/library and peds hospital. The only safety thing I found to be an issue is that the building uses a phone fob system so if your phone dies you're locked out (or if the system goes down, which has happened several times)

Convenient but expensive
The shuttle across the street will take you right to campus, which is incredibly convenient. The apartments are spacious, but have a dated look. The surrounding neighborhood doesn't have much to do, and you would need a car to get to larger grocery stores/restaurants. Management can be overly strict and fairly unresponsive, even with more urgent issues like building access.

Bristol West End
Bristol is the closest apartment building to the medical school, which is very convenient for getting to class or to the hospital early in the morning. There is also a shuttle that runs to the hospital every 5 minutes during peak hours, and every 15 minutes for the rest of the day. Bristol has a solid gym with weights and cardio equipment, and is only a 3 minute walk to the Vanderbilt gym. The pool area is very nice and has two gas barbecues for free use by residents. The management is fair, and has always been responsive in my experience. The apartments are all very modern and well maintained, and get lots of natural light. Many medical students across all years live at Bristol which is great for a sense of community. Furthermore, there are many residents and attendings who live at Bristol as well. Overall, Bristol has been a great place to live, and I plan to stay here for the duration of my time at Vanderbilt.

Pricey but convenient and fun
You're going to pay extra for rent because it is so close to campus, but Bristol is filled with med students and friends. There is a shuttle that takes you right to EBL (where we have class). Recommend living in BWE especially for first year.

Good fit for med student needs
Great location next to VUMC shuttle stop for fast access to campus, decent pool and gym access, and overall very well-maintained and clean. The property manager is relatively easy to reach, and enforces building policies strictly. Entry to the building requires an electronic card access system that must be installed on a smartphone for entry, and a fee is charged to you every time you migrate to a new phone. If you want to live close to other med students there's probably no better apartment complex--about a quarter of my class lives in this building.

Great for med students
Very few complaints. Building is quiet, clean, and location is perfect (close to the gym, 15 minute walk to the hospital). Only complaint is that management can be strict about rules, but I never feel like they've ever tried to screw me over.
