Surprisingly Good

I've had a good time renting from this company. Maintenance is timely. Public use areas are usually clean. My only complaint is the expensive laundry machines

Poor temperature control but bldg manager responsive for other concerns.

Heating is centrally controlled and there were many winter night spent in very low temperature. Management was largely unresponsive to our questions, and our request for a thermometer was ignored. That being said, the price is remarkably low for the area and the building has been pretty reliable for other issues, like plumbing or the odd insect sighting. Good first apt in DC.

Safe, safe safe! I can walk at night and I have never felt unsafe. very residential area so not a TON of restaurants/bars, but very close to the grocery store. Quiet and lots of families.
Haven't had any issues in the neighborhood. Everything is fairly quiet. Almost too quiet if you are a city person.
It's very quiet and residential, but close to Tenleytown and Cleveland Park bars and restaurants.
Pretty quiet neighborhood as far as DC neighborhoods go. I personally really like that about it as I prefer a quiet, darker, more residential scene, but maybe others would like it to be 'more happening.' It's a short ride to busier areas like DuPont or Adams Morgan though.
The area is quite suburban, especially off connecticut avenue. Plenty of parks and green space, which makes it great for pets. There are a few cafes, but no nightlife to speak of, and nearby grocery stores are definitely smaller and dated.
The complex is filled with either students, early-mid career professionals, or older retired individuals. The building is typically safe but I would suggest moving to a higher floor. The commute from tenley town circle to the apartment can be dangerous at night. My GF and our other roommates has been repeatedly stalked back to the building, chased, and even assaulted at gun point (turned out to be a fake gun). So please be aware of this. (I know this is not unique to this commute).
The neighborhood is very safe, but sleepy. There is no nightlife – most local restaurants close by 9pm every day.
Van Ness is a great neighborhood.
