One Miramar Street Apartments Review
OMS is an old apartment, but still a good choice for new graduate student.

Affordable and Comfy!
My apartment at OMS is super affordable and the rent covers a whole bunch of utilities that I need not worry about. The apartment is in a homey and pretty place. The apartment is located near a couple of convenience stores, and grocery/food delivery to the apartment is typically good. The WiFi connection is really good.

Very convenient for a couple
The apartment is somewhat old, but very well maintained by the HDH staff. The rent is very low compared to similarly sized apartments outside of campus. Also the proximity to CSE is great, although not so useful in covid times.

Good price, good location
In terms of convenience, OMS is hard to beat. It's one of the cheapest options for campus housing, and it's easy to catch a bus to campus or ride to campus by bike (pre-covid of course). Being able to use the gyms (again, pre-covid) in neighboring complexes is also nice. I also loved the convenient parking garage and the many options for bike storage.
That being said, living with randomly-assigned roommates can be a drag. Sometimes it works out well. Sometimes it doesn't. OMS apartments are also prone to mold; you really need to be proactive about mold prevention. I had a really bad mold situation at one point while I was living at OMS. The housing people were somewhat helpful though I often ended up feeling frustrated with them.

Decent apartment for graduate students of UCSD
I have been here for my graduate studies. It is in proximity to a lot of other places. The community is friendly and cooperative.
